I've bored lot's of upper monster triples without any problems, but only did a SBK bottom once for someone. I wasn't very comforable with it but it has held up fine, although I doubt I'd do another one. The top triple has very little stress on it, the bottom one has A LOT of stress. Whenever pratical, I like to see them beefier than stock.

^Holy crap!

The plus to the Marzocchi set is that you can get a complete set of triples and stem the will just bolt to your bike.

Those look interesting, there used to be a 43mm version of that available. I wonder how good they are vs Ohlins, vis a vis the shitty nature of the stock Monster Marzocchis. In the mountain bike world, Manitou or Rock Shox were always better than the best Marzocchis.
TAft, I was assuming you had to use the Tokicos if you did the GSX-R fork swap. Didn't stop to think that maybe you could get Brembos for them. I know that Tokicos are damn good brakes for sure, and the pots look cool to boot, but for my part if I had your bike I would have this OC need to keep Brembos on it. Oh I know, Beringer six pots!
I have had this aching need to get a killer front end for my bike since I can feel the cavitation when riding and the handling's sloppy, but I can't see spending the kind of dough one needs to spend for it. In my view the upgrade is justified, I just can't go all out on full Ohlins for this bike. Used adjustable Monster forks are sparse, but SBK forks are plentiful. So you are saying that an SBK fork swap won't work on a Monster? I'm thinking some 999 TiN Showas and a Speedy 53 Monster top and bottom. What else do I need for an S2R? Maybe I should just get a new bike. But I like this one.

All you need to do in order to fit 9*6 SBK forks to a monster is to bore the upper triple and shim the lower. It's easy to do and gives you an improved fork and a platform for even bigger improvements.

I've already got radial brakes, so the only superbike fork swap I could/can do would be SBK ohlins.  These are all 53/56mm forks, and would be the ideal/easy way.  Of course, I sold my ohlins front end ages ago when I promised myself I wouldn't be messing with the monster very much.  I could do a set of SBK showas, and they buy the radial mount lowers for another GRAND...not.

I've got 2 choices really.  Ohlins R&T forks, which measure 50/56, and will need custom spacers to work, or go with a gsxr front end with the 25mm ohlins stuff already in it.  Either way I'll need custom spacers, but for the R&T's I will need to get a new triple (or at least a lower).

Or you could find me a good deal on some Marz forks and triples and buy my setup. [drink]

just curious, but what setup do you have?
