My name is Kevin.  I took the MSF course last November, and finally found a deal on my first bike last month, which is a 2007 695.  I totally love the bike so far, and I'm hoping to live in Florida or California some day (instead of Kentucky) so that I can ride a lot more.  Yes; I like riding enough to relocate.

Hi Kevin. Welcome to the DMF & Congrats on the 695  [moto]

we like pictures if you've got any  ;D

Welcome Kevin and congrats on a nice choice of bike. [thumbsup]  (I've also got a 2007 695.)

BTW California is a much better choice for riding than Florida.  We've got loads of proper twisty roads, not just on-ramps. ;D

Have fun, ride safe. [moto]

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome.  My vote is for Cali also, but it's hard to talk my wife into moving that far from "home".  We vacationed out there last Summer around the bay area and it just made me realize how terrible Kentucky is and how much I'd like to live in an awesome place like that!  I'm hoping to be at the MotoGP race at Laguna Seca this Summer.
How long have you had your 695?  Have you had any problems with the over-heating that I've read about on this forum, or any other problems.  I love the bike and hope to get several thousand miles out of it before I move on to another Monster.  We had some rare but good weather today, so I rode as much as I could.  The engine temp never got above 215 while it was 70 outside.  Anyway, thanks, and ride safe!

Thanks for replying & welcoming me to the site.
Will photograph & post pics soon, although there's not a great deal of custom work to brag about.  It has Termignoni pipes, and is the dark version of the 695.  You've already seen that, but I'm proud of her anyway!
Ride safe!

I've had it a bit under 2 years, nearly 17K miles on it so far.

I've not experienced any over-heating problems.  I do have the Termi/DP ECU kit on, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Glad to hear you had some chance to get out and about! :)

That's encouraging if you haven't had problems after 17K!  Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not sure if mine has DP ECU kit or not because I didn't own the bike when the Termi's were installed.  I guess time will tell when I'm riding in July whether or not I suffer the offer-heating plague that others have encountered.  Every day I learn something new, so hopefully I'll get an idea from you or someone else what the ideal running temps are supposed to be.  I've really enjoyed riding, but some of the stories I've read can make one paranoid I guess.  So far, I can only say that I wish I'd discovered Motorcycling before I was 32!  What an awesome thing to be on a bike, especially a Ducati.  When you're out there, nothing else matters in this world.
