Has anyone figured out a ball park figure one would spend a year doing around 10 track days/yr? I'm sure that this can dangerously get addicting and will require serious budget planning and SAVING  :( ;D

I figure that just track admission cost alone is 1,700/yr.  Not including gas, gear, tools, parts, more parts, labor, etc would be around 5K per year   >:(  I'm debating if getting a cheap track bike is worth the investment considering you can't claim damages on a Ducati while on the track anyways  :-[

I'm looking at the same situation .  There are other expenses too like transportating your bike  ;D

Depending on your insurance you can claim it. You have to talk to your provider, but usually, if it's not a timed event, you can claim damages.

I actually cornerwork for most of my track time. It works out pretty well, you cornerwork one day, ride the next for free.

As for gear, Already had it. Although I just got a new suit.

Tools, ditto.

Labor, anything I can't do myself, I can just ask any of the good people here to gimme a hand. Some guys on this board can disassemble and reassemble a bike using only a toothpick and a rusty nail.

Cost starts to rise if/when you have a spill. Also you have to factor in the maintenance and  oil changes, tyres, etc.

Some time ago I added up the cumulative cost, it comes out to a little over 100 dollars over the cost of the track day per trackday if you factor in tyres and oil, as long as you don't kiss the asphalt.

That said, getting a dedicated track ho is always a good idea. You can concentrate on riding instead of not dropping the bike.

Hey Frank,

Can you export your calendar below?  Just logged into your Google calendar, export it, and save it.

I would like to import this into my MS Outlook Calendar  [thumbsup]
