Evening going good, I'm beginning to feel alien again at last  [thumbsup]

Did an unusual amount of sleeping this w/e and missed out on a cold damp ADV ride which I wanted to go on....

.... but I am feeling better  8).

It's 58 degrees right now. ;D

It will hit the mid 80's daytime...

I's warm for June, but normal for summer.

It's a cv joint boot... http://www.dormanproducts.com/p-11984-614-632.aspx?year=2002&make=FORD&model=FOCUS%253A%2520ZX5&engine=L4%2520%252D%25202%252E0L%2520%2528121%2520CID%2529%253A%2520GAS%253A%2520FI%253A%2520N%253A%25203&parttype=CV%2520Boot

The large end won't fit the joint snug enough...I spent the 2 hours gluing the foolish thing together...trimmed it for length...and the id is probably 1/4" too big. I don't see how I'll snug it up with the style clamp provided.

To add insult to injury my work light failed mid job as it was getting dark.

I'll try again today. :-\

[should have just bought a rebuilt axle shaft] [bang]

Sure...

but I'd need to remove the axle which necessitates removing the strut, brakes, and steering knuckle.

I was trying to make it an easier task in my driveway with only a set of drive up ramps to work with.

Probably a bad question to ask, but how old is the CV joint?
