Nope they saved me from substantial repair costs when a lady coming the other way made a sudden left in front of me. I slowed, skidded but couldn't stop & hit her passenger door going about 12mph I went over the handlebars & hit her passenger door windshield (in full gear) and then plopped back down on to my bike which had just fallen over on its side held up by a only chicken wing.
