you don't think he was being serious, right?
Like this is the racing, no?

So am I correct in assuming there is no World Supersport at Miller? If they only have one class racing, there will be some serious down time during the race weekend. Better bring extra beer I guess.

It's only a matter of time before AMA is ran exclusively on oval tracks with bikes and riders adorning Walmart and Scoll sponsorship.

you'd be incorrect... we get the "full world show," supersport and all, this year.  [thumbsup]

I'm also Australian... so no. ;)

I like Jake Zemke, I really do. But give me a fire breathing asshole like Mladin any day. And I mean that in the most sincere way. I was rooting for him against Ben past 3 years.

Crankshaft? Why I oughta...

Looks like DMG is going to have a tough time marketing the racers when race fans don't even like the star in the series.

2003 CRF175F

Hate?

Winningest racer of all time in the AMA (by some metrics). Dominates not only races but championships. Has a firey personality and is sometimes abrasive.

I could have just described Rossi and any number of other famous racers if you take away some of the comments.

Last thing I want to see is a cookie cutter motorcycle racing series, if Mladin is your villain, that's fine but if there are no villains then the series will be less entertaining.

One last thing on Mladin; I'm not sure how much performance you get out of a crank if you mess with it (even if he did which isn't clear) but if you give back the points he lost from those disqualifications last year, the Championship with Spies would have been very close. Now look at Spies, what does that say about Mladin?

Bad choice of words.

I can't and wouldn't try to diminish his on track accomplishments. He's extremely talented.

It's everything else about him I can't stand.

Better?

you can be pretty sure that he personally had nothing to do with the crank issue.

exactly what i've been saying about mat for months during the wind-up to spies taking on wsbk.  you are an extraordinarily talented racer if you beat mat.  that guy gives 100% every second.

as for his personality.. eh, i get that.  but i enjoy it as well.  =)

i've always said that mladin was a world class racer. why do you think that i've had full confidence in spies on the world stage?  ;D

putting aside the DQs, the battles between spies and mladin were completely fair. they were both on the most-developed race platform in the series and they both had access to the same parts.

I think there are a couple of riders who could give Mladin a run for his money on the same hardware in AMA but most of them aren't at the same level.

I'd love to see him sweep and failing that, Suzuki sweep showing that the whole DMG pregnant dogfest was just a waste of time. I'd actually much prefer to see WSBK rules in the US and some really competitive racing across brands *and* riders. The fact is that Mladin is just better. I'm also interested to see him actually get his hands on the 2009 GSXR.

I doubt he'll be racing next year though, I think he's done unless someone can challenge him. He's just bored and not interested as evidenced by his lack of pre-season testing.

gm2

he's said many a time that he's interested in racing the best riders on the best equipment.  we are not in a world of the latter.

i think he'll murder the field, take his 7th title, and go home.
