tempers be flarin' in the sportbike post-race interviews:

http://www.cyclenews.com/articles/road-racing/2009/03/22/eslick-again

The press conference after the race proved as entertaining as the race itself as DiSalvo and Hacking got into it. DiSalvo took exception with Hacking talking to Eslick while DiSalvo was being inteviewed. DiSalvo told Hacking to be quiet, Hacking basically continued as if nothing was said, and then DiSalvo told Hacking to have some respect. At that point, Hacking said: "I lost all respect for you along time ago." Then DiSalvo went with "Well, I never had any respect for you."

It says AMA Pro Racing...

You think it's really NASCAR doing the suspending?

ya know, i see competitors talk to each other, off mic, during the other racer's interviews all the time. even in f1!

disalvo blew the whole thing out of proportion. if he was really concerned about 'respect' during the interview, he would've motioned for eslick to be quiet when he tried to talk to him.

honestly, it's just more fire between hacker and "little d." they do not like each other.

i'm kinda bummed that the ott guys didn't get the real fireworks before or after the filmed interviews.

fwiw, i'd also be somewhat irked if i was racing a 600cc bike against a 1125cc twin w/ a 2x torque advantage and no weight penalty.

I could maybe see a double displacement advantage for the air-cooled 2-valve Buell motor, but not the Rotax.

Hacking suspended indefinitely, Mladin on probation.  Apparently, Hacking used bad words, didn't get his progress report signed by his mom by the due date, and didn't share during recess.

The whole make the beast with two backsing thing just gets worse and worse. Conveniently, the main competition to the American made bike with a ridiculous advantage is now out for at least one race.

I want to read the news about the series because I'm interested in the riders but I've pretty much decided not to watch any of it on TV because it's just bullshit.

This season I'm watching:

*  WSBK for good ole fashioned, paint-swappin' road racing;

*  MotoGP for Rossi n' Stoner and to watch the midget flounder; and

*  Maybe AMA (one week late), and then only to bear witness to the rolling trainwreck that is US road racing

are mag wheels not allowed on the 600s?

more to the point, weren't these bikes allowed in the past b/c they were air cooled?  i don't understand how a 1125cc liquid-cooled twin with an on the buell website claimed stock HP of 146 is a reasonable class companion for a 600cc I4 that comes out of the showroom at about 105-110hp.

DMG not too smart.    They just came up with a formula of 2400cc / # of cylinders and are sticking to it no matter what.  I should run a 4.8 liter half-cylinder bike.   [cheeky]
