Sad day...  Shane McConkey, 1969-2009.  It was time I guess...  skier, base jumper, etc....can only do that shit so long.  Sad to hear because this guy was a legend to me.  We were born on the same day and grew up skiing the same mountain in VT.   I was a shitty skier, he became  pro.

Sounds like he was doing his usual for MSP films, 600 meter cliff jump in the Dolomites, deploying into a wing suit and chute.  One of his skis didnt release and by the time he got it off and repositioned, it was too late.  Never even deployed the chute.

Anybody who has seen a Warren Miller or MSP film has seen Shane.  He is the crazy saucer boy in the MSP films.

Just so everyone knows .. Charlie is a bar in town back home, they provided tv for everyone in town. Channel 19 was none stop snowboard/ski/skate/etc videos.. God I miss that channel.. I never thought I would ever say that.. :-/
