Great word for it George... sick. That's bad craziness. Guess those skies are disposable, one time use. How'd you like to be rock climbing at a lower level and get smacked with a falling skie at 100mph? :P Wonder if those suits have a swiveling cup holder?

very cool, assuming you live to tell about it ;D

You can live to 100 if you give up all the things that make you want to live to 100.

Actually, there is at least one Norwegian production bike.....

http://www.brudelitech.com/

This is the road that leads up to around where some of the jumping was/is done.
The second picture is showing the lower part of some other cliffs they're doing.
The area is the valley called Romsdalen, the road is called Trollstigen (ladder for the trolls)

Anyone coming here - I'll show you around - 6-7 hours ride from capitol Oslo [thumbsup]

Actually... My better half was trying to talk me into moving to Norway and transferring to an office my company has there... I told her it would be a pain to move there but she's still trying to argue it

You're more than welcome [thumbsup]

We're strange people, but we actually like Americans - a bonding thing I think. I wouldn't recommend bragging about the forreign policy of the previous administration, but other than that most Americans enjoy it here. Us citizens are, I think, the fourth largest group of forreigners - an active community, base ball, football, churches, American schools, 4th of July and that kind of thing.

Very high taxes, free medical care, education. Strict traffic laws, but miles of good twisties without much traffic. Skiing is available close to Oslo, if you're into that.

Let me know if you have questions [thumbsup]

Funny thing, one of them dudes actually killed himself on the bridge scene. He wasn't happy on how close he came to it so he tried it again. Ended up as a bug splatter.

The dude that invented the ski-off the cliff-into wing suit killed himself as well about two weeks ago. One of his skis didn't come off and he went into a dead spin, no time to open the chute.

Dude's name was Shane McConkey

the process of getting a work visa and eventually citizenship honestly made me want to just stay here...

and there's nothing to brag about with any government decision made in the last little while here stateside. would I have a chance to do any track days there or race? would I have to go into England for that? She wants to just pick up and move... i suggested dropping the kiddo off at her parents and taking a vacation (preferably a motorcycle tour) to check it all out first...

My local club, Desmodromene, have 6 track days this season. We're (not me though) licensed to do RR training sessions. We also do group rides a few times every season. Once a week there are practice sessions, different groups divided by skill level - anyone who passes a simple test can join. All brands allowed.
You would have to have a bike with Norwegian plates to participate, unless you have a specific track bike and have your RR license.
Have in mind that Ducs cost about the same as in the US, but taxes more than double the retail price. S4RS = $30,000. You can imagine what that does to insurance prices - renting a bike will cost you, IIRC around $1k for a week.

You can check out our site at Desmodromene.com - maybe post questions about RR for foreigners. I don't know what it would require for you to get a license, but some of the guys might know. It's low on traffic, but the flounders check in once in a while. Let me know if you need help to sign up. My name there is stoppitide.

I think a trip before you decide is a good idea. If you like it, move. If not, you get a vacation to remember and that's that.
You can come on a rented bike, as my guest, on the following dates: 5/11 6/17 8/7 8/8 9/10 and 9/11  (should you decide to visit and ride)

our taxes are soon to follow  ;D

seriously though I'd be renting and riding on vacation. I would definately take you up on the offer of taking a little tour on those roads but I'm doubtful I can do this without bringing along the wife.  :o

I'll start the conversation with her and see where it goes.

The options are somewhat limited, but a quick search shows ZZR600, VN800, ZR7, Road King, Electra Glide, Softail Heritage - all at about $ 1k for a week. Helmet included, plus gear for the non-HDs. If you crash, you pay up to $2k.
