Anybody cut the passenger foot peg brackets off of an S2R1000 to look like this?  I am thinking that I might grind mine off.

(Thanks Juan for the idea)  ;D

Mine..!  [cheeky]..  is a 05 M1K, it did not come with it..!!   However I have been thinking of a way to add brackets for a passenger with out having to repaint the frame...   [laugh]
I guess we always want what we don't have...!! [laugh]

Your bike was the best example that I have seen even though it didn't come with the pegs in the first place.  I may chop the pegs on mine to get the look of your bike.  I haven't had anyone on the back of my bike in the two years I have owned it... so I don't think I will really be missing out on anything.

Regrets.....you'll never know when you're gonna need those pegs hehehe!!!!

i removed my pegs 'cause my girl hated riding on my bike. we broke up and now I wish i had 'em back. i can't count the number of times i've had to regretfully turn down some hottie wanting a spin.  :'(

guess i'll just have to buy a new bike.  :D

spinned, I am very honor that you like my bike in such a way. However, this is the best example I can give you.

Stuart made this for Waren as you can see in the picture, he still has the option of installing back the passenger foot pegs..

one more with the pegs on.

Here you have another example also by the master Stuart..!!  [cheeky] This is not a regular M1k, but a S2R like.

and one more

I've been wondering about that on my '99.  The pegs are one big bracket that I'd like to cut in half, but I don't know how or if it can be done cleanly.  I'm putting hi mounts on tomorrow so I won't need the exhaust brackets.

And I'm married, so I won't be giving any random hotties rides  :-\

If that is the case you can just go with any rear set, your bike will look really nice.
I have seen people modifying the stock pegs where they remove the rear pegs and exhaust brackets, I can't find the pictures sorry. I am sure some one will come up and place the pictures of the ones I am talking about. In any case, like I said, your best bet since you are going with H/mount pipes, get some rear sets, you will not regret.   [thumbsup]

I decided that I am going to do it.  Like Sgt_H said...

I bought a Makita 4.5 inch metal grinder today... look out!  (hmmm another excuse to buy a cool tool).  My big question now is what to do with the coil.  Should I leave it?  Also Juan... does your bike always look that clean with the oil breather pod filter?  I figure that would get pretty messy after a couple thousand miles.   [beer]

I guess you're right.  I hadn't thought about rear sets but that's probably a much better idea.  Do they have rear sets that mount in roughly the same place?  Or are all rear sets up and back like on race bikes?

Hehehe.. I am always coming up with different reasons to get new tools, my problem now is I don't have space for my tools..!! [cheeky]
I painted the coil on my bike, flat black so you don't see it as much. The crank case breather does not get messy on my M1k at all. I wish I could say the same thing for the one on my 620. On my 620 I made the mistake of removing the black plastic valve that is on the crank case, just to see how it works, it has been liking oil ever since, just like you said, every 2000 miles ore so.
