Brought home my son's bike this week from the dealer.  He is currently in Iraq and has been overseas for 6 years now... but he is coming home for vacation this month.  He bought the new 1100S and had if fully decked out and delivered.  hmmm.... I like it.  I'm supposed to put the 600 mile break-in on it before he gets home.  What do you think... should I ride it?

•   It has the full Termi kit and ECU
•   Speedymoto belt covers and chain cover
•   Rizomo levers and reservoirs
•   Lane-splitter mirrors
•   Fender eliminator and other stuff

My son just got back from Iraq on the 15th of March.   [beer]  Ride that bike but don't even put a scratch on it!   [thumbsup]

wow..nice bike

Its ironic that even ducati realized how stupid their exhaust routing was on the stock exhaust from the front header and went back to the original setup

Nice!

I would have rode the snot out of it.

600 miles.... I would have stopped justlong enough to get the maintenance done.

Thank him for serving. My brother goes back for his second tour at the emd of May.
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

Nice! Take the DB killers out and go for a ride. Since they look like they're still in, note the sound difference and report out! [thumbsup]

Definitely break it in before he gets back!

So... I just picked up my M1100 in black. I have almost exactly the same mods!!!
(Will post picks this weekend)

Now, I'm guessing based on what I can see from the license place surround... but do you live in Portland OR and got the bike from MotoCorsa. If so... we should go for ride  ;D

Independently of how one feels about the war, I am sure we all agree everyone that has been fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan deserves one of these and more!!

Please thank your son for his service. I am sure you are very proud of him.

Now, i think you should ride it for 7,500 miles and really brake it in up for him  [moto]. These things only loosen up after about 7,000 miles. So don't be so selfish and run another 500 and get it serviced for your son. What kind of father are you!!  ;)

Yep bought it at Motocorsa... and got a good deal...
send me a PM if you would like to ride I am out in Beaverton.  My son will be looking for riding opportunities when he gets back at teh end of the month too.

woah never noticed the full termi system doesn't use the stock routing of the pipes. interesting. wonder if it's the pipe diameter since it's larger.

personally like the stock... don't like the low hanging pipes, look like a afterthought.. like..... 'crap, where do we put the exhausts... oh just hang it off the bottom"

more mods... take off the frame stickers, fork reflectors and powdercoat the headlight frame and rearsets black.

tell you son to take it easy. the military is really worried about guys coming back from iraq and getting on bikes. it's a increasingly bad stat. tell him to take 24 hours to relax. then take him out with you.. you lead and lead slow to get him oriented.

oh and tell him congrats on the bike.

swampduc

Very nice. You should have that broken in yesterday.

On another note, I'm surprised there were Speedymoto belt covers available. I keep calling them about some for my 696, but they're still not done. Couple more months is what I heard last.
Respeta mi autoridad!

Hey guys don't encourage him too much... I do want to ride that when I get home. Good looking out on the pics Spinned, at least I didn't have to try and upload them with the connection I get here :). To everyone else thanks for the comments/appriciation.

welcome. i was serious about taking it easy though the first 24hrs. not sure if they do it in the states but in europe they were not letting guys drive for 24 hrs. you've been over there driving humvees with different rules of the road. takes a bit to get used to. also there tends to be a 'invincible' feeling when returning. not pointing fingers, just want you to be safe and enjoy. the R&R policies aren't as available but for reintegration there is real good info put out. read up on it so you are better informed.

then ... take the fork reflectors off ;)

DucHead

Can I be your son too?   ;D

Beautiful bike!!

You owe it to him to break it in. I'm sure when he gets home he will not have the patience. He'll probably want to ride it like it's stolen. Thank him for serving and give him his toy in showroom condition.
08' S2R 1K   That was close  damn near lost a $400 hand cart.

Thanks for the pictures. I get mine in the same color next week. I could only afford the slippon Termi kit. Come home safe brother. Thank you for your service.
