Hi there,

New member here from Worcester UK. Bought a 696 in February 2009, which has just been run in and and serviced for a trip to Northern Ireland to see the NW200 Road Race in May. Had a 749 Mono for 18 months and after going to our National Bike show at the NEC, saw the 696 and knew I just had to have one - so I did !
So that's me for now.

Welcome to the DMF and congrats on your 696! [thumbsup]

Quite a few of you Brits here now, maybe you should all get together and start up a local forum.

We'd love to see pictures of your 696 and also some pictures from the NW200 if you get a chance. :)

Thanks a lot for the welcome - we've got quite an active Ducati UK Forum going at www.ducatisti.co.uk - like here there's a lot of very knowledable folk who regularly contribute. In fact it was on that site I heard about yourselves.
Pics - Yep I'll sort some out. Still getting used to your forum layout and looking for the "gallery". Anyway I'm off to Bologna on the 20th April and have a factory tour booked at 16.00 hrs on the 24th - looking forward to that ! Going to try and cram in Lake Garda and Verona whilst in the area.
Sorry for being a bit dim but could do with a quick tutorial on how to insert pictures here :P

Yumm, red. sweet ride. Oh, and welcome to the forum Banus.

What is that behind the left silencer (exhaust) hanger. I always wonder what that is. Is that some kind of registration decal in UK?

Hi Sleeper_I - Nearly ! Its correct name is our "Vehicle Excise Licence" otherwise known as "Raod Tax" - but it does have other names I can't put on here !
It has to be paid either annually or every 6 months cos if you're caught without it your bike / car gets rapidly transported to the crusher never to be seen again - not in one piece anyway !
On a Monster the current cost for 6 months is £36.30 - so annually about £70. Just one of the many taxes we endure over here in the UK.
Our registration document comes in the form of a certificate that gets handed over to the new owner.
Was going out for a ride tonight but the heavans have opened so that's the end of that   :(
