My leather jacket and gloves are SOAKED.   :-\

I towel dried both but they're definitely wet. Anything I can do to prevent the leather from going bad?

I'm in Houston as well. I was like where the f- did this storm come from? I think it passed now.

I'm sure it'll be fine once it air dries.

You should be fine.  Hang them up and let them air dry.   Get leather cleaners later if they need it.   You don't want to soak them everyday or anything.  But I got my leather gear wet many times over the years and never had a problem.

Cool. Should I lather it with conditioner now or wait until it's dry? I'm thinking the conditioner may help the leather from getting brittle? Dunno. Or will it cause the moisture to stay trapped in the leather by adding conditioner now while the leather's still wet?

Hold off on the conditioner. I'm sure once you wear the leather again it'll break-in and get soft. I have a fear that the conditioner might ruin the integrity of the leather.

I rode 130 miles in pouring rain about a month ago or so.

I found out my pants were not as water proof as they were suppose to be.

My leather jacket was twice the weight with all the water soaked in. It was getting a little big on me so I threw it in the dryer  ;D
Its a bit smaller now  ;)

BTW, putting something absorbent like newspaper inside boots and sleeves will help the gear dry out quicker.

Hold off on the conditioner....I have a fear that the conditioner might ruin the integrity of the leather.

Most leather conditioner weakens the leather when it makes it soft.  I don't know much about it but have heard many leather guys talk about it.  If you really want to put leather conditioner on it do a little research before hand and make sure that what ever you put on it won't take away from the protective performance of the leather.

...I know there was a thread on here before about this but can't seem to find it.
