OK, so this seems like it should have been cut and dry, remove four small screws, take off four screws holding the bracket on that supports the fairing and then put screws in black wire covering. Oh but then there is the hiccup! Where are the screws I am supposed to use!? I didn't get any new ones from the dealer with the black cover and the small ones from the bikini don't fit. What am I missing?

Spicoli

Mine were in the bag with my manual and spare key, etc.

If you don't have them there, check your tool kit under the seat.   They are very small black self-tapping screws.

If you don't have them there, contact your dealer.
Life's too short to be taken seriously.

Yup, like Spicoli said, they should be in a small plastic bag. Contact your dealer if missing.

Two of the ones you just took off? ???

I know I reused screws from something. There were a billion extras after removing that thing.

Nope. They are totally separate screws from the bikini fairing removal. Trust me, I tried every bolt.
My dealer did not include mine either. I'll ask when I'm there for service.

I must have used a couple from the tail chop? This is gonna bother me. [laugh]

But I thought there was something in the bracket system in there that didn't need to be taken off that I took off anyway. Maybe those were my screws. I'd hafta go take a look.

M y bike never included them so I went to a hardware store and got afew for 25 cents each.

I got "screwed" with no screws as well  :'(

Went to hardware store and bought two M4 x 0.7mm (I think they were 15 or 20mm long) - worked perfectly

+1 on the size, thanks, they said they would see what they had when I go in for my service, but I want it done now so I will spend the $.50 and get it done! thanks guys!

Keep the bikini on.

A totally naked bike is nice, but it's much more nice to have a little something on to leave a bit to the imagination.

.....  yeah,  I just said that.     ;D
