the house is back on the market and I got a potential "very interested" call yesterday. I hope that goes through and the original buyers are trying to go through a different mortgage person. I can only hope. I could maybe dream about a ridding war but I just want to unload it now.

This has been an interesting winter. I'm not busy enough with work, so I have occupied myself in improving my chess game*, learning some woodworking skills, practicing the bass & writing. Anything- as you can see above- is better than being up North.

I miss you guys. I always say to Barbara that we have the best friends and fun-est social life in Albuquerque. I miss riding, but not so much as I am tempted to have a bike here. Between people our age & older and the locals (who never use turn signals & consistently swerve from lane to lane), the drivers are too scary. There are lots of Harley riders around, mostly older guys who hit the road in full-squid attire- tank top, shorts, flip-flops, no helmet. Your quintessential organ donors.

We're going back north in a few weeks, then headed your way the end of March. Hope it's riding weather when we get there.

*If any of you are into chess- and I haven't really played in decades until this month- check out chess.com. You can play online.

As my time-machine is broken, I'm unable to speak for the future Nic...  BUT, it's 72'F today here in 'Burque.  You can extrapolate from that.  ;D

Well, this will be an odd post...

I'm moving on.  I've grown tired of the building bikes thing and am selling off all my bits and pieces which I have collected throughout the years.  Honestly, it feels good.  Really good to move on.

This does NOT mean that I'm breaking any friendships from the local NMMR hooligan types.  Y'all are mi amigos and will stay that-a-way.

This does NOT mean that I'm quitting Desert Desmo.  I still like turning wrenches occassionally on bikes and I do know quite a bit about Duc's so why not continue...

It does mean that I'm likely going to just buy a bike when my garage is clean and it will likely not be a Ducati.  I'm leaning towards the Triumph Daytona 675R as it's bad-azz and not too expensive.

Well, we're still in FLA, but will be heading north tomorrow. We'd planned to leave a few weeks ago, but then we looked at the weather up there & figured we were just fine here.

I do have my '01 M900 to get back together in NY. This is when I wish the Desert Desmo demons were in NY for a few days.

While down here, I ventured into some woodworking. I know Zaster is good at it, and probably some of you others. For me, I can frame & do rough carpentry, but I've never done much that's close to finish work. Building this wall unit was my first venture.

Thank you. It's not perfect, but there's a lot to be said for wood filler and gloss white enamel.

Nicely done Nic!  What's your ETA to the Land of Enchantment?

We arrive Saturday night, Mar 29th. We're staying 2 weeks this trip- we leave on Saturday, Apr 12.

Main goal this trip is to install laminate flooring in the master bedroom.

Oh, and see our friends and have FUN!

It was 22 degrees here this morning, snow predicted for tomorrow. Northeast apparently did not get the memo about Spring arriving last Thursday. That Saturday flight to ABQ cannot get here soon enough.

I won't claim the weather is perfect here, but it beats the hell outta 22 and snow!  Get on a plane, Boyee!
