Got this "cold cure" sent to me.  Haven't tried it yet, but it looks like if it doesn't cure a cold at least you won't feel it.  If anyone uses it, let me know how it works.



Dragon Ale (for colds and flu)

4 Cups Brandy
1 Tablespoon Crushed Peppermint Leaves
1 Cup Honey
1 teaspoon Sage
1 Tablespoon Orange Rind
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
2 Whole Cloves
2 or 3 Eucalyptus leaves
Juice of ½ Lemon

In a medium sized saucepan stir the brandy and honey over a low heat
until the
honey is dissolved. Mix the orange rind, cloves, Cardamom, lemon juice,
peppermint leaf, sage, cinnamon, and eucalyptus leaves in a medium sized
container. Add the brandy. Cover, let sit for 2 weeks. Strain. Store in
sterilized glass bottles.

Back in the day  (we need a shot-slammin emoticon) I had a remedy similar to that.  It was to warm up about 3 oz of Grand Marnier to the point of steaming.  You inhale the steam through your nose until you can't feel it anymore (it's like a ten-penny nail being driven up through your sinuses at first).  Then you slam the shot and suck on a lemon wedge.  This will unclog your sinuses and give a quick sense of euphoria thus erasing any memory of a cold till the next morning.  Repeat as needed.

Yes, I do remember that!  You and Kingbaby were there to drive me home after the surgery.  I guess I was groggier than I expected.  And Pam brought me a ham and cheese quiche.  I finally got their dish back to them at long last.  You guys are the bestest.

I rode with a couple SoCO DOGS today (KRJ and Smokescreen).  They both had fractured fingers in the past and were able to rehab them back to full mobility over the course of a couple years.  So I have hope again.  Here is a shot of the guys today:
