Hi everyone,

I got my first bike which is an M695 in 2007 thinking it was just for testing a little bit. I'm now realising that I'm developing feelings for this dark Monster. Anyway, I was thinking of some mods but I'd like some advise from you more experienced guys...
- Exhaust, I've understood that I have to go for the Termi kit from Ducati so this topic is closed
- Headlight, I've found this clear glass light which I think might give the bike an even cleaner look, any thoughts on this?
- Indicators, there are sooo many. I like them black.. any ideas?
- Tail, what should I do here? I hate the long plastic extension the M695 got out-of-the-box

Thanks for some help here...

Welcome Victor :)

Glad to hear you've caught the mod virus ;D

Termi/ECU/open air will not let you down - good choice!
Clear headlight glass - yes, that will clean up the look. Got a link/pictures?

Turn signals - choose the ones you like, but remember that the LED ones require resistors to slow down the flash rate.
Clear or smoke lenses, with amber bulbs, looks ok. Cheap too.

Beer tray - hmmm - some will say chop the tail, some will say keep it for wet riding. The best looking no-chop solution, IMO, is this from MonsterParts http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/ZU-C010EDM/Bodywork-Carbon/ZU-C010EDM.html

I wanted something homemade, so I did this....

Thanks! Here's a picture of a clear glass one...

The Termi kit is a great idea, but if you're not getting it right away, you can chop your cans down and possibly paint black if you like that look. It's easier than I thought and sounds loads better.

Also, if you're crafty enough, you can mod the tail yourself [thumbsup]
Good luck

let's see...

tail chop, reflectors, 14 tooth front, and donuts pretty much round out the standard issue babbling from this lot  :D

motrax (?) turn signals are cheap and still look good...

if you're not keen on actually chopping your tail, there are some cleaner option than the beer tray

(for example, I happen to be trying to sell my DP carbon fiber "short tail" kit)  ;)

some other users have modded their beer tray to fit closer to the frame, remove the big ugly plate mount, etc.

Waow good stuff! But what's "reflectors", "donuts" and "14 tooth"   [bow_down]

any thoughts on the clear glass light, will it look funny or great?

I couldn't find the headlight on D Saarland - got that link? It looks great IMO [thumbsup] Just the glass or the whole light?

If Teddy didn't explain already, 14T is the number of teeth on the front sprocket - changing it from stock 15 makes the bike run at 6.67% higher revs at all times. It means that power is accessible sooner. Reflectors come off the forks, because they are ugly. Donuts are bought and brought by noobs to please the veterans.

the yellow reflectors that are stuck on the sides of your forks, 14 tooth front sprocket, and donuts... I like glazed...

I think clear glass would work, that headlight does look cool

stopintime: it's on the Saarland web page under Monster parts, pretty long way down that huge list

I've also found something here but it's too shiny I think, but a lot cheeper

Termis are nice and sound great, but personally I'd probably get something else. Termis are overpriced IMO, and other options look better and sound just as good. Motowheels.com is a good place to look for exhaust systems. A lot of our sponsors sell exhaust as well.

Here are my favorite turn signals...Rizoma Zero. I'd stay away from Clear Alternatives integrated stuff. It's harded to see, and a lot of people (including me) seem to have durability problems with them.

Just chop the tail. You'll like it.  ;D Here's a kit...or you can make one yourself.

The hedlight you posted should look great IMO!  [thumbsup]

Get new mirrors. Bar ends really clean up the look of the bike, and also give you way better visibility. There are several options, but CRG's are widely regarded as the best.

Remove reflectors and frame stickers if you haven't already.

isn't the DP termi kit regarded as the easiest upgrade for the closed-loop bikes?

Two dogs

Without a doubt the best mod for 695 is getting the suspension sorted for your weight , I thew on a set of S2T fully adjustable forks with 10 weight oil and a heavier spring in the back and it feels amazing now , no bottom out ,brake dive ,scraping pipes in corners , bike feels planted no wallowing through the twisties and faster corner speed.
14 T stops the lumpy feel at low speed snappier take off too , new cans ? don't know what the old ones felt like as I had termi installed before it was out of the dealer.

To fix the closed-loop issues? The full termi with DP ECU is regarded as the most bulletproof solution to the problem. Most if not everyone who has tried the FatDuc manipulator are happy with the results and for only $80...

yes, that's what I meant. but the DP kit isn't just for problem solving, it's a performance mod that works right out the box.

I admit, I haven't read up too much on the fatduc, since I have an open-loop bike, but if the OP's looking for performance mods, the DP kit (for the inflated price) gets you sorted quite easily.
