frame maker

Oooppps! I started posting before making my introduction here.   So here goes...

I go by the handle "frame maker" because thats what I do.  I make frames.  No, not the type you put pictures into, but the type you put motorcycles engines into.  I also like to modify existing frames.  And yes, this includes making or modifying Monster frames.   I currently have several Monster frame projects in process.  One will get a 916 engine and suspension.  The frame will use oversize tubing than stock and the steering angle will be a few degrees steeper than stock (because I thing the stock geometry on the Monsters is a bit lazy).  When done, this bike will look like a Monster, but should ride like a 916.

A few personal details.  I'm an industrial designer (with some mechanical engineering training) with a degree in Transportation Design.  I live in the SF bay area (Livermore) with my wife and kids.   I have about a dozen motorcycles of all different types... dirt, trials, vintage, road-racers, etc.  Currently I own 3 Monsters although only one (M900) is complete and running.  You can see more of my motorcycle projects at www.thekneeslider.com (use my name in the search tool)

Feel free to send me a PM if you have questions about chassis modifications.

cheers,
Julian Farnam

Hey Julian.  Welcome to the DMF.  We met very briefly some time ago when Stuart and I came to pick up the frame for my M1000SS (supersport swingarm on an '03 Monster frame).  I assume Stuart showed you the finished product (or pics of it), but the bike looks GREAT!  [thumbsup]

Occasionally AFM #702  My stuff:  The M1000SS, a mashed r6, Vino 125, the Blonde, some rugrats, yuppie cage, child molester van, bourbon.
