So far, I've not had any flack over my integrated signals.  I'll have to look up NC's inspection code and see if I can find out about from-centerline spacing.  BOTH of my bikes have integrated ~

HI has a minimum spacing... could be that it's measured signal to signal, I can't remember how it's worded, but they are required. I'm sure there's something in the books about a Db limit on pipes, but nobody ever checks for that

places that do car safety don't do bikes, and the check is annual.

just read VT requirements - pretty generic, no ape hangers higher than 15", pipes not modded
(aftermarket OK if not modified to be louder than stock, no problem),
headlight aimed, no centerline distance for signals, sounds like
integrated light not a problem (brake light must go out if in conjunction with turn signal).
Tank must be vented, presume canister removal OK.

Might have to give my new to me 05 620 a try.

I live in NC and have the dealer inspect.  I run full Termi's, and integrated rear light and signals, and one two inch mirror on the left side and they haven't said anything about it.  I really don't think they are to concerned with it.  NC might be pretty lax about their guidelines though.

Have any of you guys here in MA had issues with your bikes during inspection?

Not at all.

I have cored cans(loud), no reflectors, chopped tail, aftermarket signals that do not meet the center line requirement.  After market headlight.

I have a great relationship with my dealer.  Bought bike from them... have my service done there.... etc.

I'll pm.

I've had similar results to Charlie

The only time I've ever been dinged was when my old Interceptor was leaking fork juice on the front rotors, and I guess in retrospect the guy did me a favor.

I've never had a problem with the Duc; I don't think they've ever asked me to start it up so they don't seem to care about the pipes.  This year was pretty much the same inspection as in the past, but there was the added step of typing a bunch of stuff into a computer and then printing a sheet of paper with the results so it took a little longer than it has in the past.

excellent. Then I won't worry too much about it then. What's the worst that could happen? I need to bring it back? Just another reason to hop on the bike and head up 128.

Thanks all. I'll ring Eastern tomorrow.

I just got mine today from my dealer (MA) and officially I shouldn't have passed but they did it anyway. The integrated tail light and the spacing was an "issue" but they said it was okay to leave it. The only problem I have is my mirrors (Oberon Streetfighters) are too small so i actually have to fix that.

Ok. So I finally went and got my inspection taken care of. I know, I'm super late, but I couldn't get around to it, plus, the rain made it even more of a chore.

Anyway, after much stressing, the inspection was a breeze. I put my fork reflectors back on and also put the stock rear reflectors on the DP tail chop with some slight modification (actually looks pretty good and I might even keep it!). I called beforehand and said, "Should I put my db killers back in?" and the guy answered, "You should." What he really meant was, "I have to say yes, but I could give a shit."

Which was pretty much how the whole thing went down when I got to the shop this morning. As a matter of fact, just about everyone that came to check out my bike was like, "hey man, you still have your baffles in...". My answer, "as soon as I get out of here, those damn things are coming out, and so are those fugly fork reflectors." They all agreed.

At least I got thumbs up all around for my Rizoma turn signals. I think I saw the tech drool a bit.  ;D

Feels good to be "legal" again.

The only issue I had when I brought mine in was my brake light was out. The guy put a new one in for me and that was it. All he checked was the lights and the horn, took about 10 minutes. I go to Aero Cycle in Medford on Boston Ave.

Good to hear you finally got it done, and congrats on passing.

Honestly though, I have yet to see a MA law that requires fork reflectors, even at the duc dealer.  As for the dB requirements, good call putting the dB killers in, that is an easy one to fail or pass and probably the only one you really need to worry about...

I almost failed last time due to my tail light, I made an LED replacement and didn't include one for the plate...  Lesson learned. (I added 1 led for the plate)

I got mine inspected yesterday at place in Wilmington. The only thing they had an issue with was the size of my turn signals, being to small. I have Motrax dinky winkas. But once the guy turned them on he felt that though undersized they were plenty bright and passed me. Followed by saying "If you get pulled over, you put those on after the inspect."
