They can pull you over for pretty much anything.  What's one more reason?

as much as it REALLY pains me to have to admit it ... you are right on this one.  [bow_down]

damn you!!!  :'(

OK, I know it's totally off-topic but one of the sidebar stories on the same page as the emissions bill story was too hilarious to pass up:

I would be surprised if most cops could even identify a canister, much less start enforcing a new law.  When I registered my out of state Superhawk, there was nothing stock about it, including obnoxiously loud pipes, integrated tail light turn signals, etc.  The CHP inspector didn't notice anything out of place.  Now, if I were clocked at 150 doing a stand up wheelie in a school zone with no pants on, I would expect the cop to go over my bike with a fine tooth comb.

Loud aftermarket pipes are illegal under more or less the same umbrella and are infinitely easier to spot than a cat/emissions removal.

And how many fix-it tickets get written for that? Almost none.

I'm not worrying about it.

Mind you, maybe we should start a "stock parts lending library" where you can borrow the stock stuff just long enough to pass the tests  ;D
I own several motorcycles. I have owned lots of motorcycles. And have bolted and/or modified lots of crap to said motorcycles...

At least it wasn't with a little dog.   :P

Last year there was someone in the UK caught doing it with his bicycle. :-X

So...the cleaning staff opened this guy's room, saw him doing [whatever] with the bicycle, then had him arrested because...somehow it was illegal? Not sure how UK law works, but that seems a bit ridiculous.

Gives a whole new meaning to that Queen song about bicycles.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Yeah, but those vertical exhausts present a logistical problem ;D

can't you throw fuel additive in there before running it through smog checks though?

what does the catalytic converter look like anyways? my motorcycle does not have fuel injection.
