I'm looking for new bars and ran across these from Driven.  I was wondering if anyone had any FHE with them.

Damn if they don't look good.  Not much more expensive then the Rizomas.  I no one else gives a review, I may talk myself into being the test rat.

i don't have experience with them, but I do have experience with carbon fiber mountain bike handle bars.  I thought they were awesome until it broke in a crash.  Whole thing shattered, basically, and I couldn't even ride it home.  When CF fails, it fails catastrophically.  Aluminum/steel bends and you can at least get home.

Kept me away from CF seat posts and bars and such.

There material and construction may be different, but something to consider.

The driven bars are aluminum wrapped in CF.

They tip the scales at 1.6 lbs.  Same as the Magura fat bars.

They have several different stlyes of the bars, but don't publish any kind of dimensions for them....so picking them is a shot in the dark if you ask me.

I know a streetfighter shop that sells them for 109$  Not a bad price.

For me though, not knowing which ones to choose, being happy with the magura's (other than the silver), and being the same weight....I passed for now.

Hope that was helpful [drink]

I've used carbon clip-ons. They had a really think lay-up and were stiff and soaked up vibrations. I think they came from LockhartP.

ah.  good to know about the wrap.  I skimmed the link and missed that part.  yeah yeah it's in the 2nd sentence.  I skimmed, I admit.  If it's just a wrap, my failure concerns are invalid.

I have carbon bars on two bikes and haven't had any issues (also have two kickstands). The only thing I wouldn't do is use them as tie down points when trailering the bikes.

The parts are thicker than they would be in aluminum.
