Seeing as the paint on my heads is flaking due to the heat, is ceramic coating an option?  I have seen plenty of pipes done and they look great.  Has anyone seen the process done on the heads themselves?

There's other options for heads besides ceramic coating.

Check out "Thermal Disspersants" on this page:

Doesn't ceramic coating have insulating qualities?  That might not be what you want on an air-cooled engine.

On the advice of DuckStew, I painted mine with VHT paint, and it worked out nicely:

"Thermal Dispersants" do just that.

There are coating that you can apply to the inside of the CC to keep the heat in, then out through the exhaust port, as well.
