I took Tizzy's advice and ordered up two gun safes for the car.

I placed the order yesterday and it already shipped same day.

Can't say I can complain about the level of service with this manufacturer.

Not sure where I will be putting it in my car yet, but will figure that out when the time comes.

Thinking about mocking up a fabrication of the exact size so I can start brainstorming locations it will fit and ease of access.

I don't think I've been on this thread more than once..since I don't own "ae" gun.  I'm anticipating one from my dad though this Christmas.  He's pretty excited that I've been showing an interest in them since he bought my sister one last Dec.    



Of course, it can't be just a Glock.  It'll be something like this ^^ with the laser/knife/holster/30 round clip/strobelight/night & thermal vision set up!!  Obviously, an exaggeration but my dad is kind of crazy like that.

What do you need a car "safe" for?  You live in the MidWest.  Don't you people still use gun racks?!  

I'm sure one of these can be modified to fit nicely in the back of the Lexas.

of course.  the full auto Glocks use them to good effect.

If you want something that can fit under your coat, you pick up something small, like a MicroUZI or a G18.  Granted, they are rare as hen's teeth, but I think you can still find transferrable auto-sears for the G17/19.

You can also buy retractable butt stocks for the Glock as well as forward vertical grips.  Sometimes, an AR is just too big.  You have to register the weapon as an AOW though.

That looks like a good lineup but I am certainly no expert.  

What's a good assortment if you only had 3 guns to choose from?!
