Well not really gone... just hidden. I figured I would share my latest project with you guys. I took off all the stock junk under the seat (TPO Breather killed the oil catcher thing). I made up a new mounting bracket and bent up some thin sheet metal for a tray with a covered box for the wires to run through. Overall I think it cleaned up under there pretty well.

What gauge metal did you use?

That looks awesome. Any chance you'd be willing to post a "cutting diagram" or a more detailed write up?

A couple quick questions:
Are the wires exposed below?
What tools did you use?

Two wheels good. Four wheels bad.

nah, he left the fender in place below and added the sheet metal to make a tray above it.
so the wires are sandwiched between the metal tray and the plastic underseat fender

looks great  [thumbsup] i may have to try this sometime

Thanks guys!  [thumbsup]
I don't know the exact gauge. it was a piece I had lying around. But its the sheets you can buy at any home depot or smaller hardware store. It was thin enough that i could cut with household scissors. I will post up a diagram later for anyone interested. I started by cutting it out and marking the folds, using a vice and a piece of wood (for 90 degree bends) i bent the sides using a rubber mallet and my hands. It takes a bit of hand work to get the angles decent but its not really hard to do. I actually used some body filler to smooth out some spots. I painted it with a rust protective paint that is supposed to be more durable. It secures on the tail light end using the stock bolts and on the rectifier end i used 1 3/4 inch bolts (the two holes in the center). There are 1/2 inch nylon spacers under so the plate is not completely flush with the bottom of the bracket. The wires are wrapped in electrical tape for protection and easily can be slid out of the "tunnel". Overall I am happy with how it came out but I think I might make another version that is a little better quality.

Post a tutorial!  That looks fantastic.  After my tail chop, I have way too much wire under my seat.
