Need Opinions on Dainese Joust Gloves...

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had these gloves and what their opinion is.  Just looking around with a new set of gloves and all I have to go on with these is that they're SEXY!

Any help would be appreciated!

You gotta go down to a store that has a lot of good gloves, try them all on, and then go with what fits and feels the best. Don't think about looks -- do a blind taste test.

Personally, I don't like the gauntlet style gloves. I mean, they look cool, but short gloves are better when wearing a jacket IMO.

Really? I was just gonna say the exact opposite.

I own a pair of Blasters. Short gloves are great for riding without a jacket... which is not great. Tired of sunburnt wrists and wind up my sleeves. My next pair will definitely go over my jacket. Goodlookin gloves. In my experience, Dainese gloves fit 1 size up, so if you're normally a large, get a medium. No experience w/ those gloves though.

Personally, I'm a big fan of HELD gloves.

that looks like a new/updated version of the Hellracer to me (sure DaineseDan will correct me if I'm wrong). or perhaps to take over from the Duel

upgrades include the wrist carbon piece and the little side of the finger protector -  it wraps around the side of the hand to the palm area - definitely try this glove on for comfort - I wanted to go up the range for protection but found that part painful.

I've been using the hellracer for 3 years, great road feel, incredible comfort, very good durability, never come off so no crash test, good wrist clenching mechanism....having said all those positives...one feature I'd love to see Dianese take on is there wrists, they simply stop focusing on safety at the end of the hand in my opinion. People who buy gauntlets usually are into their gear and safety....so therefore a better system or some protection of the wrist would be welcome.

I'd have to disagree on this one.  For the most part, our gloves most definitely run on the small side.  I don't exactly have huge paws, but I have to wear XXL's.

Just a side note on sizing gloves from any manufacturer.  I find that most riders actually buy gloves too tight.  This is the exact opposite of what I experience in every other piece of gear (most wear people wear gear too big for them), but most tend to buy gloves skin tight thinking that they will stretch. 
There's two things wrong with this. 
Firstly, gloves don't really stretch like a jacket or pants will.  You may get a little room across the palm or back of the hand, but you will never get any length unless your gloves are attached to a still living cow and creating new skin cells. Not very effective, and honestly kinda gross.
Secondly, you never want your fingers touching the end of your gloves, even when your hands are wrapped around the bars.  You generally want to keep a good quarter inch of room in your fingertips with an open hand.  If your fingers are jammed up in the end, you can actually wear through the leather, and if you do have a get-off, it just increases the odds of blowing out the tips and tearing your hands up.
And, yes, I really like the Jousts.  They offer the same level of protection as our top of the line Full Metal Racers, but without the bling.  Great price point, too.
