Agreed w/ Corey!

My cousins just opened up a studio back in Michigan.

ANYONE can sound like they are a talented rapper/singer with that studio equipment, i.e.:  Kanye, Brittney, etc.

True, but can they write their own lyrics and produce their own music? Most singers today cant or dont. They have good voices, but sings someones elses lyrics over someone elses music.

Autotuner sounds more like T-pain..

t-pain pushes autotune outside of what it was originally designed to do for his signature sound (that everybody is now copying).

it was actually designed to produce (transparently) "perfect performance" vocals...

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

well, unless we are talking about easily provable subject matter -- like Euclidean math  -- that too is subject to opinion.

Kanye West puts about as much effort and thought into his music as he does his blog:

As far singer/songwriters go, there are plenty of them these days, and quite a few good ones. People with actual talent, who write and sing songs that mean something to themselves, and that people can listen to and transform into something that relates to their own lives. Songs about cars (however  much i may love them), liquor (same), booty (same) and money (amen) are far from universal and have little emotional or intellectual impact on anyone that listens to them. Kanye's music is the equivalent of "Kool & the Gang" during the era when great songwriters like Tom Petty, Paul Simon, and even James Brown were making REAL music. Music that would transcend age, race, and even time.

I've heard Kool & the Gang at every wedding I've ever been to.

And Carpenters during dinner for some reason. I don't feel that Carpenters is appropriate dinner music.

Sadly Kanye's reputation as a messed up Human Being precedes him where ever he goes from here on out ( except where there are those of like mind ).

He has left a trail of behavior that tells me that he will never see the real world ....only the world according to Kanye.

exactly thats why i like Kayne, its not the same old Bs that has been the core of rap/hiphop as of late.
