Nope.  If I get rid of the two vehicles I have now it will be to streamline into one car.  So it is either a new(ish) Jeep like thing, a new GTI or maybe a tasty BMW.

GTI

That is the most likely candidate.

I can't really say the same as I still have my Mk IV.  But one thing is for sure, the Mk IV did not handle as good as it could have. The Mk V was a huge step forward in that department and everyone seems to agree that the Mk VI is even further in that same direction.  Plus it sure looks better than the Mk V, both inside and out.

One other bennie is that turbo motors are cheaper to mod, and get stupid power out of.  I just wish VW/NA would say whether or not they are going to bring the R-20 here to the states.  I would be a bit cross if I went out and bought a new GTI just to have the awd, and more powerful, R-20 come here a year later...

And then there is that M3.   [bow_down]

that's only because you (like me) have the VR6. nose-heavy w/that torsion bar rear doesn't make for terribly happy cornering... the 1.8t mkIV could certainly corner a lil'better, as well as making stupid amounts of power (hello APR st.3+)

mkVI is out already??

and sheesh, you're making like an R32 would handle like pooh.

Dude, have you gotten a look at the new Mk VI body?  There are three of them at Tony right now.  They look SWEET!

aw, jeez.

y'know, the pre-pro scirocco shots were near enough to sway me back to VAG

that's much better looking than the mkV  :-\

Hell yes it is!  The interior is MUCH nicer as well.  One thing I always hated about the Mk V was the shape/ergos of the steering wheel.  The wheel on the Mk VI is really nice.  Plus, the dash looks much better and the door panels are nice as well.  Over all it really seems like a winner.

Not to start a hater thread here, but meh.  The interior is nice, but i'm not blown away by the body.  Maybe it looks better in person.

key pt is that it's better than the V. everything went downhill after mkIV, as far as the exterior

This is true.  I still really like the shape of my Mk IV.  I just wish it wasn't getting so long in the tooth.  It's been a great car, but it has over 110k miles on it now and I can only imagine the infamous little VW electrical quirks are on their way to visit me.

I've had mixed feelings about the R32, especially the Mk V models.  They sure sound the business, but you are dealing with the design/ergos that I don't like, the fact that the engine is a good bit thirstier than the VR6 that I already have as well as the fact that they were only available with that silly flappy DSG slush-box.

There is an '08 R32 down at Cutter VW that I took for a spin the other day.  It only has like 1300 or so miles on it (it was a manufacturer's buy back car due to the faulty fuel hose design), is in great shape but they are still wanting like $35k for it.

I don't think the DSG really qualifies as a slush-box...

sure, it's automatic n'all, but it's hardly the tiptronic

No, but there is still a very noticeable delay between shifts, both up and down.  Call me crazy (not like you haven't already) but I want the car to shift at the moment I tell it to, not half a second later or when it decides I would be better off in a different gear.
