It is no secret that I am enamored with the quality and style of Dainese leather , especially the short leather Jackets.

Recently I added 5 more models to my collection.

I've been wanting on a White " Arizona "  model for about a year and found one recently at the D-Store in San Fran.

I also have been looking for a " Merlin " model for the last 2 years and just found one in my size at the D-Store in San Fran.

I liked the look of the " Gran Premio " model and found one in my size recently at the D-Store in Costa Mesa, Cali.

The Dainese Rebel red is a 2011 model made out of D-skin supple leather w, 2 very large front zip Air vents and 2 side
perforations on the backside and the back of the upper Arm.

It is also the only Dainese Jacket I have that comes w, a Nano feel Micro- Dowm removable liner w, a sanityzed permanent liner.

The Stripes is a Dainese Jacket that is made of Vintage leather ( suede) and smooth leather.

It has the usual Shoulder, Elbow and Forearm CE Armor as well as 2 front zipper Air vents and exhausts vents.w, ample stretch material through the shoulders for ease of movemen

Each of these Jackets is impeccable in it's creation and structure and make ideal sport bike Jackets.

The Arizona and the Merlin have high collars for cooler weather riding protection.

The Arizona has 4 front zip air vent w, side Exhauts vent.

All 5 Jackets have the Composite Shoulder and Elbow removable Protectors and 4 have the  Micro Down full sleeve zip out winter linings.
Also zipper for Jacket to Pants connection and pocket for a G1 or G2 Back Protector.

Are you driving to pick these up or having them shipped? SF and Costa Mesa aren't exactly close....

$400 is not a pitance , but Dainese is the finest purveyor of leather purpose created and styled riding Jackets and Suits plus the Corse line of Ducati which Dainese also makes IMHO so I never feel bad about being able to buy the best , especially at a discount to reg. retail.

I feel that the number of Dainese & Ducati Corse Jackets I have now will last me 'til I'm dead and gone and most will be like new especially due to their quality and the fact that I may not even wear some of them more than once or twice.

I order them over the phone since I'm in Ohio.

I have been dealing w, the D-Store in Costa Mesa for 3 years and purchased from the D-Store in San Fran 2 1/2 years at least.

Also have bought several from Moto Wheels , one of our Sponsors.

They are then shipped UPS.

They all must really, really like you..

Sorry, but I don't understand piling up stuff.
[/quote]Ivan V, I don't understand it either.

Actually they hang neatly in 4 closets.

I'm just a slave to collecting nice things.

Why does anyone collect things ?

I too am in love with everything Dainese. High performance, excellent style, safety, you cannot go wrong with a Dainese purchase.
My collection has just began, with a newsan jacket and delta pants, but I have an eye on my next purchase.
Have you ever been to a D-store? I've been to the SF D-store, It was very difficult not to load up my credit card with purchases. Everything looks so much better in person than from looking on line.

Danaid, I have never had the extreme pleasure of being in a D-Store.

I'm afraid if I could , I'd put a serious hurtin' on my credit card !

I have enough Jackets , Pants and Suits that I know what Dainese looks like .

I'm concerned that I'd pass out from the overwhelming bliss of the essence of all that leather in one place.

Wow that is the first time I've seen a pic of the actual merlin jacket. When I search the net all I can find are the stock photos. Is the fit true to the size chart? Did the Dstore list it for anything less than msrp?

Hi Airborne,

It is certainly more beautiful than any picture could ever convey.

The Leather is like holding a newborn baby it feels so good ! Very nice and pleasing to the touch, but very stout as far as the over all weight of the leather.

I was very lucky, I have been looking for a " Merlin " in my size , in stock somewhere for 2 1/2 years.

I just happened to call the D-Store in San Fran and they had a size 62 and 64 .Very unusual ! I normally wear a 60 but I wanted this Jacket for cooler weather so I'd be wearing possibly a heavy sweater under the micro-down liner so the 62 was just what I wanted ....and Dainese had them at 30% off which just made the deal almost too good to be true .
Fit is fantastic!

I wore it today in 50 degree windy weather doing 125 mph at times and it keep my core nice and warm w, a long sleeve T and a long john top under neath it.
Absolutely love the Jacket.

redial, my collection takes up 2 regular closets and 2 walk in closets.

I don't know how I could get everything together and be close enough to get any detail of the individual pieces.

It would definitely have to be a panorama photo.

For the time being, just use your imagination.

The " Merlin " is for now a favorite , may be 'cause of the unusually cool weather, it having the stand up collar really helps keep my neck warm.

And because its not all crapped up with a million logos. Just a nice plane jacket with good style. I wish more manufactures would make stuff like this.

Hows the length of the jacket. Is it cut to fit long or short to the belt?

It is definitely longer and you're right, not much in the way of flashy logos and writing.

Just the small silver logos on the Shoulders and the word Dainese in embossed black leather so it is barely visible.

You can wear it as a casual Jacket w, jeans.

in black/nero http://www.dainese.com/eu_en/motorbike/g-santa-monica-pelle-b.html

Then I found this one on their site http://www.dainese.com/us_en/motorbike/g-waterart-pelle.html?cat=12  which I fear will be a future purchase.
