Just my opinion, but the Tuono is ugly.  Great bike, but ugly.

My roommate's got the Tuono and I've got the S4RS Tricolore so I've had a chance to ride both.  Granted I'm biased as the owner of the S4RS, but IMO it feels lighter, especially how it flicks into corners with a finger light touch on the bars.  The Testastretta engine definitely revs quicker, and the S4RS feels like it has slightly less front-end weight bias (way better wheelies!) and OMG the brakes are simply awesome.  Yes, the 50mm Termi kit is pretty much a must-do to uncork that last bit of insane power and get it to run really well at all revs (darn Euro3 emissions!) but it sounds soooo good and really makes it come alive.   All in all, I find the Ducati a slam-dunk winner over the Tuono.  Check last month's issue of Motorcyclist magazine where they did a shootout between various naked bikes (with both Tuono and Monster included) and you'll find the Ducati to be the hands-down winner.  One other thing to consider when buying any new bike is dealer network.  I think you'll find far more Ducati dealers than Aprilia dealers, which means easier availability of parts and service.  They're both great bikes, but of course here on the Monster board we're all in love with our Ducatis.
If it's got two wheels and a motor, I like it!

There are realy only one answer to this question, right ;D

If you're looking at an S4RS vs. a Tuono R (non Ohlins, non radial brakes, non OZ Forged wheels) get the S4RS.

If you can find a Tuono Factory or Tuono Racing, however ...

The S4Rs has cast wheels too.

I was speaking more to the Aprilias - the non-Factories have wheels that "look" like the real deal (ie, they're painted blue) but they're not the same as the OZ's that the Factory / Racing ones have.

i've already made my choice
S4Rs all the way  [evil]

i have been calling around to all the dealers within 500miles lol and the best price i found on a new one is $13500 out the door, only 2 hours from me, my choice of colors

I am torn between that and a 07 s4rs with full Arrow and 1500 miles for $12500

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.
