'01 KTM Duke II, immaculate (Seriously, it's showroom shiny) with miles so low I believe I increased it's total miles by 4% just driving it back from Livermore 

Initial impression from driving it on the highway: Sucks at freeway speeds less than I thought it would. Mirrors are useless. So useless I didn't see the CHIP until he was right on my ass (lucky for me he pulled alongside, did the "slow down" gesture, and then sped off  )

Initial impression from driving it around my neighborhood: WAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA. I LAUGH AT YOUR CRAPPY PAVEMENT AND CURBS. OUT OF MY WAY YOU PEONS. I WILL CRUSH YOU WITH MY BOTTOMLESS TORQUE. MWAHAHAHAHAHA. 

I do not see this bike being good for my license.

Did I mention how squidly this bike makes me feel? 

Given how cheap the bike was, I have an extra $700 (it was 1K, but I got a new helmet) set aside for mods. At this point the only thing I'm moderately unhappy with are the brakes (may just need bleeding) and (oddly) the lack of a temp gauge.
