C'mon guys, I'm 195lbs and want to go down to 185lbs ... most people would say that for my frame, 5'8" still too much ... less than 180lbs I look sick ... so, from large pizza to medium, from a 12 pack on Sat evenings to a 6 pack or 1/2 bottle rum ... from 10 to 5 wings ... from full rack of ribs to 1/2 rack ... I was @215lbs a few weeks back ... still not an exercise freak or gym rat ... so my couch is my gym ... no betting just getting ...

Okay, Carlos...  We're just about exactly even as far as height and weight go.  I'd like to get down to 180lbs.  My competition weight was 175 @ 3-5% body fat.

I've lost some muscle since then, and I'm okay with anything under 10% body fat.  (I'm around 18% now).  :P  Ugh.  [puke]

I think 180 is doable.  What do you say to a little side bet?  I get down to 180 before you hit your goal, you send me some of those hot sauces.  If you win, I'll send you the recipe to my Maple Bacon Moto Muffins.   [drool]

Carl... What's your goal?  Winner gets dinner at Via Maestra? Wait.. We're trying to lose weight... ;D

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

I have dropped a massive 2lbs since my last doctor visit and have been working non existantly at losing weight. I feel I am fatter than a pig but have lost weight. My muscle tone has completely gone due to the meds and ol flabby fat has replaced it. Time to do something starting today. Goal is too drop 15lbs in 3 months.

Now this is a get fit thread I can appreciate  ;D

I stopped snacking and eating sweets a long while back and all that did was allow me to maintain my current weight.  I cut out beer and booze 3-4 months ago and I've lost 15 lbs.

I do. Even worse, I own a bathing suit! I did one of those 21 day no sugar no wheat programs in January. I lost 12 pounds. I would like to lose 3 or 4 more. My summer pants did not fit last summer and I want to wear them this summer.  I also want to go swimming.

I am doing a one month boot camp at the park by my house.  2 mornings a week at 0600 plus yoga on Saturday. I just want to firm up the muscle tone and feel ok about myself. No need to be ripped or anything.

I like chips and beer and want to enjoy my summer.

i can not condone your diet unless it coincided with a decision to accept there is a higher power and 12 steps.

I don't own a scale.

Nor do I.

I gage my weight by how the clothes fit and how I feel.

Lately, I've not felt the best, more tired than normal, get winded more easily...
so I'm trying really really really hard to cut/reduce refined sugars and have even
gone several days w/o coffee!    ???   All while maintaining my current level of activities.

My weaknesses:  beer, red wine, margaritas, sugar, salt, all starches on the face of the planet.

Want to do this for a month or until I notice even slight improvements.
No improvement, back to the bags o' chips!  (And more changes which includes a physical
next month.)

I think that hot flashy hormonal change thing is also a contributing factor.    :P
