Kinda sad to look at that. :P
I wonder, should I buy a new Buell on the HD Competitive Bike Exchange as an investment? ???

An HD dealer would probably take the Batta la Strada in trade for a Buell right now, no questions asked....

In other words, could Buells now actually appreciate in value (or at least hold value) over the years as they become more rare? ???
That is a strange thought, indeed! :o

Can anyone name a bike in the market over the last 5 years that's accomplished this feat.  my take is NO unless you buy a warehouse of parts which will end in 7 years.  that said if you're so inclined check with HD of Georgetown, they had about 5 left over but they were still very proud and the price reflected it too.   now go hunting old man.

I knew it was wrong when I said it. In the first place, Buells aren't that rare, and worse, they haven't been that sought after. With those market factors in place, I should wait a couple of years to see how low the resale values will go. Chances are I could buy 3 used for the current price of one at some point in the not-to-distant future.

I do like that 60-degree 1025 Rotax engine, and wish it would find a new two-wheeled home. It's a shame that after Buell's demise, there is now no American manufacturer of sport bikes. [bang]

moto czyz is the only one left but they abandoned or sold out their gas version to work on electric bikes  [puke]
I don't hate them for selling if the price is right but I hate the folks who took the bike out of production because it was one fine machine.  Still trying to find out who bought them but no luck.....maybe HD and they dumped that one too  ???

How would you like to be the poor sap that was trying to sell his/her used Buell right before the doors closed? Your used Buell went from hard to sell in this economy to impossible to give it away! [bang] How do you compete with new Buells being blown out the door for pennies on the dollar and the likelihood of no dealer service or parts in the future from your friendly local Harley dealership? Poor bastards... :P

I'm not concerned Fastwin, I have a heavier version of the Buell to the tune of 900 lbs AKA Barca Lounger on wheels.  :o

I wonder about the Buell as an investment.  Surely they will become collector's items... witness Vincents, Nortons, Indians (the real ones, that is).  A couple of new/near-new Buells in a storage garage, started up every week but not ridden - in 15-20 years, it might put your kid through Harvard.

In the short term, probably not so much.  Think real estate.

Yep.  Park it right next to the Corvair.

Just buy a Streetfighter and adorn it with oversized CF intake vents - it'll look more and more like the Buell...

I like lots of things that Motowheels sells. This is not one of them.

Geez, I thought I was the only one with a mint-condition Corvair.  I have it stored on its roof, since that's the way it seemed most natural.

Lessee now...
Last time I checked, Vincent's last bike rolled off the assembly line in 1955, or 55 years ago. By your line of reasoning, a 2010 Buell 1125CR in 2065, ought to be worth as much as a 1955 Vincent  Black Shadow is now.
That's 55 years from now, when I'm 115 years old. [laugh]
