HELP NEEDED: Parking spot in SF for my poor little Monster

Hello all, have a random request/favor to ask...I recently moved from Lower Pac Hts to Lower Nob Hill and lost my "parking spot". I say "parking spot" as it's really just a little area under a bay window (so it's covered) on the sidewalk. It's completely out of the way of pedestrians so never had any issues (picture below of current "parking spot")...and best of all, it's free. I hate to admit this, but unfortunately, I only get to ride my precious 4-5 times a year which is why my attendance and participation here on the boards has been embarrassing...the bike is an '03 and has just over 6K miles on it, :) (I bought it from robs4r in '07 w/ 3K miles) That being said, the bike mostly sits in it's spot with a locked cover (my first cover got stolen as I failed to put a little lock in it!). I moved about a month ago and have kept the bike there since it's only 5-6 blocks away but the bike is starting to get tampered with (I think they're after the spark plugs) because I check on it about 1/week and the cover will be partly off, etc.

So I'm looking for some advice/recommendations on what I should do (selling is NOT an option as I can't bear parting with it!). I have posted a WANT ad on CL without much luck, and I have checked with all the pay-for-garages around my area and no one has any open moto spots.

  • Any creative ideas/recommendations for me?
  • Do you know of anyone with a garage that has room for a bike? (I'm definitely willing to pay a reasonable monthly rate)
  • Do you know anyone that is renting a car spot in a garage that would be willing to share with a bike? (I've done this before with an old roommate and it worked great...and once again, I'd of course help pay for the spot as well.)

Thanks everyone!

You might try this on BARF.  While we have the Ducati love on our side, BARF has the numbers.  I know you're on there, too.  You're going to be called a fag about 14 times before you get an answer, but I bet someone will have something.   [cheeky]

You need to make a Crackhead offering and tape a sparkplug to the handlebars everytime you leave the bike.

I think its time for a bigger bike  ;D

Can you please please sell it back to me. I miss my 620 dark  :-\

By the way I still have first dibs on it when you do sell it  [thumbsup]

I'd let you store it in my back yard under the stairs for free, but I'm not in SF.

I can call you a fag a few times here, just to get you warmed up.   [laugh]

Hey Rob! Haha, your love for the bike grows stronger with each day, :) Sounds like I might be able to make money off it! J/K.

Just to keep the love alive, here are the pics again from my photoshoot with her back in '08:

Ah bummer, much appreciated though! So when are you moving to the city? :)

Be careful, dbhak22.  That's belle's idea of foreplay.
Occasionally AFM #702  My stuff:  The M1000SS, a mashed r6, Vino 125, the Blonde, some rugrats, yuppie cage, child molester van, bourbon.
