Haven't riden one.
Wollongong Frasers had a come all ride day on today but I am sure it was washed out.

The Bearded Duc

I rode one of these. Lightly modded. The thing was ridiculously fast!!! It didn't wanna stay on two wheels.....
Not really my style but I did like it, a lot. The geometry is great, not to aggressive that city riding is a pita.
The only problem is that they're not happy at slower speeds  ;D 55mph in first!!!
If you're in the market and the suprebike is more your style then get it! You won't be disappointed.

Heather rode one at Turismo test rides. I haven't seen her since then but she will probably chime in when she sees this.

do you think a 14 tooth sprocket would help spread the load out.have read they dont like it around town or is it the fact that you know this bike has balls and you just want to gun it.im going to ride one very soon just thought there might be some hidden adgendas that us monster ridders can see.

Spider

the riding position is so much more forward then the monster....the whole front of the bike disappears, the screen and instruments are way down there...I didn't ride her (despite the salesmen's wishes) but quite roomy!

yes i sat on one and noticed my weight nearer the forks.see im 5 foot nothing and a little bit stretched on a 1098
but the steetfighter felt better.cant wait to try it out.

This is very true. I liked the roomy feeling as well.

The 14t might help a bit, the one I rode was stock gearing so I'm not completely sure. You will loose a bit of the top end though, which may not be that noticeable on a bike with 150+ horses. What kind of riding do you do? Mostly city?

Is there any particular reason you're looking at the Street Fighter? You could get the new Monster 1100 for 3k less, the S model is still 1k less than the base model Street Fighter and it's a little more forgiving IMO. Its great(comfortable) for tooling around the city, long runs, and riding the twisties and it's got plenty of horsepower to get you up past that 120mph mark.
Personally, I'm more a fan of Monsters but, again, if the Street Fighter is more what you're looking for then do it and don't look back  ;D either way the Street Fighter is equally a great bike

Ding dong - that's me chiming in  [cheeky]

Rode the streetfighter last Thursday in Hobart. Me likey a lot.  [moto]
I'm 5'5" ish and was concerned about seat height but was no problem and a much shorter guy rode it before me.

Didn't get it out of 2nd gear around town - twisty hills in 60km zone.  It was rideable but a bit like a dog pulling on a lead - it wanted to go.  Of course it needs pipes etc. Only did a little on the hwy and I was right behind Warren Lee so couldn't do more than the speed limit and no wheelies  :-X. I started out riding quite forward over the tank but ended up wriggling back in the seat.  You don't end up with all you weight on the bars and I was surprised that you don't feel much wind with the way the front end is.  I spoke to a bloke on turismo who's riding one and he loves it (has a S4 that's he selling too).

Pigmy - I think you should at least take one for a test ride. They are very nice - just a tad expensive and not as practical as my monster.

My idea would be for someone to buy me one for my birthday and I would use it as a toy for day rides and I would keep my monster for the multiday road trips.

I think I would prefer to ride the streetfighter or a 696 monster round town rather than the 1100 monster which is just as tall and heavy as mine.

And for those considering buying me a birthday present - it's in June.  [roll]

How tall are you Pigmy? Five foot zero inches or five foot a couple of inches? Just wondering how other fellow "Petite" riders go on these bikes.
Cheers,
Kaz.

Sorry, Mick snuck in ahead of me.

Under five foot heh? I'm confused. Vertically challenged with long legs?

I'm only four foot eleven and ride a 695.
