Anybody still have one of those around?  An acquaintance binned his on a ride the other day and he could use pipes, and a bunch of other stuff.  If you've got spares you'd be willing to part with, he'll pay a decent price for them I think.  Thanks y'all...

If he's a member here have him send me a p.m. If not let me know and I'll send you my email.

One of our SoCal peeps just binned his 900SS, perhaps he might have what your acquaintance needs.

I guess knowing the year would help. My stuff is for a 92-98.

He's not a member, just a guy off of BARF who chose to ride with the wrong group of jerks.  He crashed towards the end of their ride, so they had a cigarette and and then decided to bail on him instead of taking 20 minutes to go look for him.  He's OK but his bike isn't.  I don't really even know the guy, but he asked for help.  Figured I'd toss it up here so I can say I tried.  I already put him in touch with Desmoto who of course got a bunch of stuff for him cheap right away, but they could only do so much.  His bike is pretty banged up and he's short on cash.  Seems like a decent enough guy.  His bike is a '95.

Sounds like BARF alright...make the beast with two backsing squids.

Glad he's OK.

It's not just BARF sadly.  We've had our fair share of that kind of thing just in the MOB...I can count at least two people from recent memory that might as well have had an ambulance chase crew for their rides, and both were defensive about it and have since changed friends instead of changing their ways.  And the rear-ending and not owning up to it b.s. that we experienced a while back on here was on par with any ass-hatted, squid-tard move I've ever seen on BARF.  We have tens of members.  BARF has tens of thousands of members.  I'd say that we're well represented in the "riding like assholes" department.  That said, the gentleman in question rode with someone that should have his licensed revoked--I mean that.  I think the other guy is a sociopath and it's not a matter of if he dies, but when.  I just hope he doesn't make too much of a mess when he goes.  Fortunately the 900SS got off lucky this time.

Disagree Belle. There's a big difference: we chase out and ostracize the people who do things like take off without looking for people. This group naturally repels the bigger make the beast with two backstards, and our rides would never go like that. And the scale comes into play here: because we're tens (dozens?) of people, we can quickly identify the numbnuts people. BARF can't.

I know probably better than anyone here what the problems are with BARF.  I am actively trying to make changes there that better the riding community as a whole where I feel that my input has the greatest efficacy.  Whether or not you agree with my methods with it isn't the point, and I ask that out of respect for me and my efforts that this not turn into a BARF-hate thread.  I don't mind a good natured joke about BARF--I mock it as much as anyone.  But I'm trying to help a guy out because he appealed to me, a stranger, to help him based on my posts in his thread on BARF.  I take that as a real compliment and hope I can show him how responsible riders take care of one another both on and off the road.  If you have parts and would like to spread a little goodwill I'd appreciate the assistance, otherwise let's keep the negativity out of here please.

Just as a note about what BARF has done for you lately...have you noticed the 'amber alert' signs with the message about looking out for motorcyclists on your commute?  That's BARF.  It's not all bad...it's maybe 95% horrible, but not 100%.   [thumbsup]

Agreed. And your efforts are appreciated. But I'm always up for a good BARF-is-Youtube-with-only-the-comments-section jokes :)

No problem, dude.  I totally get where you're coming from and I can appreciate a good laugh at BARF's expense.  Just start another thread for it this time.  99.9% of the time my threads are BARF open season--just not this one.   :)

I heard that if you rearrange the letters in BARF you get METH  ;D

Seriously, the amber alert thing is awesome. Well done  [thumbsup]

I own several motorcycles. I have owned lots of motorcycles. And have bolted and/or modified lots of crap to said motorcycles...

The Blonde is already sick of me pointing them out and reading them to her as many times as I can before we pass 'em.  Very cool.   [thumbsup]
