I recently moved back home to Overland Park, KS from the great state of Washington. I've owned a few motorcycles in the past but never a Ducati, which I've dreamed about for years.

I finally came across the perfect bike. It's a 2000 Monster 900 and only had 1600 miles. It put the price tag right where it needed to be and on the first nice day I went out to pick it up from Letko Cycles.

It was a dream! ;D

My girlfriend and I cruised around town all the next day. She'll be learning to ride soon!

I think my first tinkering on the bike will be to disengage the Interlock that keeps the bike from starting when the kickstand is down.

I'd take any suggestions about any maintenance I should do with the bike right now although it doesn't seem like anything is needed. I am curious about where to find a regular maintenance schedule for the bike. I'd like to keep up on it myself.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

You should probably ask your maintenance questions in the Tech Board

There are a bunch of experienced DIYers and some pros too.

Welcome and congrats on your 900, sounds great. [thumbsup]

As Nate says, you'll get some good advice in the Tech board.

We love bike pictures, so feel free to share if you have any. ;D

Oh, and your girlfriend is more than welcome to check out our Women's forum if she is interested.

Have fun! [moto]

A 900 with only 1600 miles will be due for a good bit of service work. Fluids, timing belts and perhaps even tires if they are the originals.

As said, if you want the real detailed scoop - post your questions and some back story on the bike in Tech and you'll get plenty of info there
