as much as i hate to think about it, i was thinking about adding some storage to my beloved machine. since i installed my bar risers, comfort isn't an issue. this has prompted me to ride for longer distances. has anyone out there found some kind of soft bags for me? i have seen some on ebay, and i was thinking that i could retrofit something. i don't know. i hate the way they look but for long trips, it would make my life a lote easier. thats why i want the soft bags, i think that they would be easier to take on an off. and since my new exhaust is a 2 into 1, maybe it is possible. it takes up much less room than the original twin can shotgun set up.

DP makes a left saddle bag, I have one it helps balance out the exhaust.

There are two straps on the back, on that hooks over the support and one that hooks over the rearset.
I've don't about 1.5k on the bike with this bag.  No issues.

And that is a new tire, I do not rock chicken strips

Do you need to keep your passenger pegs for this to work? The first pic posted looks like the support is mounted to the passenger peg somehow. It's hard to tell from that photo though.

You need the passenger peg to mount a strap that keeps the bag from sliding forward and back under hard braking etc
Also if you look at the metal brace it mounts on the passenger peg with a longer bolt that DP supplies with the bag.

Thanks for the info. I'm not ready to put my passenger pegs back on the bike, so it looks like I'll have to find another way to carry stuff with me.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Heads up guys.  I bought a DP left sided bag today and when I went to install, it didn't fit with my tail chop [bang].  The back section of the rack bolts through the second set of screws that hold the stock beer tray on.  When I went to line the rack up, it stuck about 2 inches past my tail light.  Ah well.  I was just meant to wear a backpack I guess.  It was a very nice bag though.

Thanks for this. It will save me some money and frustration. [thumbsup]

The S2R can only have one sided saddle bag to the exhausts.
Or you need a guard such as the one sold by Givi, which also looks like you can't use it with a tail chop.
