Nope. It needs to see a plastic surgeon first. That proboscis has to go! [bang]

Pinocchio

I'm just guessing here, but maybe that ibis-like beak has something to do with the aerodynamics of air induction. I don't think it's a styling touch.

Thanks for posting the link.

I don't care what the hell it's for... it sucks. Look up stupid in the dictionary and there will be a picture of the front of that bike! Ugly is as ugly does. I don't give a rat's ass if it runs 9 second quarter miles, does the dishes and performs oral sex... it's just damn ugly! Bikes are a luxury buy, we don't absolutely HAVE to have one. There is that whole "passion buy" effect at work. Motorcycle purchases are 99% passion driven. And I seriously don't see just a whole lot of "passion" for that Transformer of an alledged bike... regardless of how well it performs. I would hate to own a bike that requires me to sneak up on it at night just to ride it with a clear conscience. Ducati has lost me... they've gone from Tamburini to 1098, etc. to this. Sorry... You know, at first glance I didn't like it, but after reading the write up in Visor Down magazine, it really doesn't look so bad anymore.  The beak on the one they had in the mag was black, so its really not super noticable and the bike in general seems like its been well thought out.  Everyone seemed to receive the Hypermotard in good graces, and that bike isn't exactly a cookie cutter creation either ( it has a beak too ).

The superbikes are still sexy, and the monster/sport classics evoke passion.  Most manufacturers have some ugly, yet functional bikes in their line up and Ducati does too.  Its not as if the last Multistrada lit the world on fire either.  It was a functional bike, but definately a girl you'd pick up after a few beers.  Ok looking, but damn good in the sack.  Think of the new Multi in the same vein and you might find the sex is good enough to keep you around.   ;D

[clap] [clap] to both Jester and Fastwin.  I have to land on the side of 'it's too homely to be       Ones only love'  You will always be tempted by the sexy piece on the side  [evil]. Lucky for us they make both kinds in Bologna.

I agree with Fastwin on the styling choices of late for Ducati but the Strada does it for me, beak or no beak.  I'll wait until they drop their BMW prices and work out the kinks before considering one but I really like the damn thing.  Tamburini all the way!

The new Multi has a lot of very cool technology that will make it, no doubt, onto the superbikes at some point.  The dialable suspension and the switchable motor programming will be awesome on any Duc SBK... I'd much rather have all the teething problems worked out though on the Multi than on my new 1198  [evil]

Awright, someone at Ducati stole my summer vacation plan! >:( Two weeks of riding some of the best touring roads in California on a new Multistrada, with a break in the middle for the Red Bull US Championship MotoGP qualifying and race:
