Some awesome advice here so far. Keep an eye out for lube covered nude dude on a black 696 with 3 pipes. And if u do see me and don't feel embarrased to do so please wave or at least throw a nod my way. Strewth!!

3 pipes???
Oh - I get it now... Carry on  ;D

Short of putting the tail back on, I don't really know what would help. I rode through a very small puddle the other day, and my bike got filthy - not happy Jan >:(
Add to that, 3 days worth of Tasmanian bug splatter at way north of the recommended cornering speed, and I had some serious detailing to do.

My bum stays fairly dry and i'm wondering if my high mount termis are the reason for this? Maybe they act like a water shield. This could be your answer, unless of course you have already got high mounts, then I don't know what I am talking about. And this is fairly typical of me.  [roll]
A high mount non-carbon fibre exhaust could help dry your bum out after it gets wet? Kind of like a heater.
Yeah, yeah, I know, more useless advice!  [bang]

If Dragon's mind ever did get out of the gutter it would implode with the change of altitude.    [evil] [laugh]

OK, I got wet, wet, wet today high mounts or not.

Front, back, sides & top. Three times over.

Damn I do pick good days to go for a blat  :(

Only good thing is that I got to do MaMa Creek before the it opened up. MaMa Creek, just like Putty road (the good end) except it's shorter and only 10min from my place  :)

OK. Final verdict is.......IF IT RAINS, YOU GET WET!!!!!! [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

696 with no fender, you will get wet (that's why they put those attrocious looking stock fenders on 'em). There is nowhere to run. Even if you put hugger on there, unless it covers to about 10:00 on the wheel, it won't stop the water.

It can't keep raining like it has. I reckon winter will be ok.

I have the hi mounts signora, but if thats your current bike in your avatar, you stay dry because you still have the Fender intact. Im not so. I dont mind getting wet, hell if I wanted complete dry Id get back in the cage. But the spray of the wet road up the back tire is my cause of concern. THink jetboat spray. If I could just get a hugger to cover the majority of the top of the tyre, basically out as far as the pipes (which isnt that far) I would then eliminate most if not all spray.

I thought of the perspec portable flap, but it would look poo.

Thanks Justo. Was only having a little joke. I know that the fender, keeps the rear ender..... dry. I am blonde, but NOT THAT BLONDE!!!!!!!!!! [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
