NOGAS that:

A) While AM was away for a couple of days in Northern Cali, I spent the day pushing ahead on our house painting project as a surprise. As excited as I was to use the paint sprayer, I was brutally reminded that painting is pretty fast no matter how you do it, but prep is a bastard.

B) She missed her flight home this afternoon, is stuck in Oakland for the night, and so now I feel obligated to finish off the trim tomorrow.

Of course what I ought do is box it up and send it back to Salt Mine I.T. support, and use an ancient even greater POS loaner for 17 weeks while they get around to ordering a board for it  .

But instead.... I've reduced it to its core components 11ty billion times today (that actually is an underestimation of the number of times I've had the make the beast with two backsing bastard POS in bits) to repair the charging circuit.  It tests OK.... I button the twat mother make the beast with two backser back up and it fails again 12 minutes later  .

On the plus side:
1) I am now an expert in reducing this thing to components.  A blindfold would be no hindrance.
2) This time it seems to be holding 

On the down side:
I'm gonna regret having said 2) outloud

New modem installed this morning.

And my brand new work issued HP laptop is such a piece of crap.  Even though the president is an Apple guy, he wouldn't approve a Mac.  And yet we've spent so much with our once a week outsourced IT "support" trying to fix and properly configure this thing we could have bought 11ty billion MacBooks for what we spent on IT and what we lost in productivity. 

I hate this place today.
