And my brand new work issued HP laptop is such a piece of crap.  Even though the president is an Apple guy, he wouldn't approve a Mac.  And yet we've spent so much with our once a week outsourced IT "support" trying to fix and properly configure this thing we could have bought 11ty billion MacBooks for what we spent on IT and what we lost in productivity. 

I hate this place today.

Let the boss know that with relocation assistance, he can have a full time bonafide IT guy on site providing 24/7 support and do it way cheaper than outsourcing. Not to mention I can optimize the builds so that you Mac junkies won't feel so put out by Winblowz. ;-)

First of all, he will only discuss anything about himself.  Secondly, even if he did hear a word about bringing someone in full time, it would have to be a volunteer position.  Seriously.  The man does NOT spend money period (unless it benefits him directly).

There are a total of 8 people on staff at this nonprofit.  He would like to operate with just 2.

So, although a nice plan in theory, you can just deep six it.

Not to worry - I now have a second identical POS Fujitsu laptop (but with a dead monitor) which I'm using as a convenient charging station for the batteries of POS #1.  Classy, huh.

In a miraculous twist of corporate unlikeliness, I'm told I will have a new IBM laptop on Tuesday  .

I know you are being sarcastic but for those who aren't aware, IBM left the laptop market when they sold that division off to Lenovo several years ago. So what Ung. is getting at is the unlikelihood that the "IBM" laptop he will be getting would be new or if new would be a Lenovo.
