I'm sick... again. Damn 3rd world viruses.

so, my power is out in 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a hallway & my back porch.. an electrician was here on friday, for 3 hrs...after 3 hrs, he said the problem was with the wires coming into the electrical panel from the electric co....sooooo electric co. came out at 9pm Friday night & of course they say nothing is wrong.... sooooooo electrician comes back out saturday am, spends another 3 hrs & still can't find the problem... he literally shrugged his shoulders & said "i'm going home & i'll be back monday"... grrrrrr.....so today he calls around 10:30 & says he'll be here at noon..um yeah it's now 2:15 & he JUST showed up

unfortunately or fortunately, not sure which, he was sent from my home warranty company, so i just have to suffer through it until he either fixes it or decides he's unable to fix it...

Another day in the Queensland bush with nothing much to look at apart from the odd wallaby and lots of trees. Bit of rain, now sunny and humid. Haven't even spotted one snake, that would at least raise the adrenalin level for a second or two.

Do you have the GFCI outlets with the Test/Reset buttons?  I spent 4 hours the other night trying to figure out why one of the circuits in my house was down but the breaker wasn't tripped, and it turned out that one of those outlets had been wired as an extra breaker in the circuit and had tripped.  It can be anywhere in the circuit.

allegedly hes been an electrician for 40 years & has a contractors license and is a certified home inspector.. oh well, problem is fixed, for now anyway

i do have the gfci outlets..it turned out to be a light switch..but he was alll over the place with his thoughts on the problem.. he was out here on friday, saturday, monday & finally fixed it on tuesday..well actually i fixed it, but thats another story..

My christmas lights got a bit out of control, and I ended up spending 4 hours learning a few lessons about GFCI outlets the other night trying to figure out why one circuit in my house wouldn't work but the breaker wasn't tripped.
