My commute is 90% highway so I fully expect 50+ which would offset the difference in price from if I got another Mazda 3 by way of fuel cost savings. This way I get to sit my ass in a little bit nicer of a car for 5+ hours a day.

i might look at the jetta then, more backseat room (like 2-3 inches) and a trunk

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Don't need it, just need room for me, my bag of tools cables and laptop and my various spare parts and random junk.

Diesel is up over 3$ a gallon here  [bang]

STTTOPPP!

At least we make up for it as I don't drive my 15mpg lexus and instead ride the bike everyday.

Well, we may be broke and out of water and taxing businesses and jobs out of the state, but NOGAS. Why does NOGAS? Because my ride into work was nice and warm this mid-April morning. And the surfers will still surf and smoke good bud and the rich people will still build their mansions here because the weather is perfect. Luckily I'm in the mansion building business. [thumbsup]

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Diesel to drive 100 miles at 50 mpg equals $6 assuming diesel is $3.00/gallon.
Gas to drive 100 miles at 15 mpg equals $17.98 assuming gas is $2.70/gallon.

Ill take the $3.00/gallon diesel any day of the week.

Blast, I almost gave a shit!

I've done the math, it absolutely works in our favor. My Jetta gets around 44-47mpg on the highway.

The only time it became close in the mileage cost and fuel was when diesel was pushing 5$ a gallon.

I'd have to find my analysis I did, but I was still slightly ahead of the game.

Even if diesel was $6/gallon, you would still be $5+ ahead in 100 miles.

I gotta get a friggin diesel!
