That we as a group seem to agree that the grief involved in losing a pet sucks...

yet there is little grief when a man dies from trying to help another human.

F it...

I have had three dogs.  I have never shed a tear for a dead animal.  I don't think I have been sad longer than it took me to dig the holes in the back yard.  While I think dogs make great pets, I have never been emotionally attached to one.    

I have shed a tear for strangers.  People I have never met, and people who I have no idea if they were even a good person.  When I see a disabled person, a really old person or even a homeless person is hurt I say a quick prayer for them.  I dont even know who or what I am praying to, if it is something that was beat into me from my upbringing, I have no idea...

I weep for all living things

I grilled a 20 oz prime rib the other night.  I wept for that cows suffering as I masticated its seared flesh.  Right now I weep while I excremeditate its flesh.

It sucks for that guy.

I drove across a rural stretch of Maryland once with my son....

for at least 60 miles we saw every kind of Fast Food stop except KFC or any of the other fast chicken ones

we did however see two gigantic processing plants one for Purdue and one a few miles up the same road for Tysons

we were crying with laughter at the idea that the locals had little appetite for bird after a day of killing, plucking and gutting them

we did not give a shit

I have list today of NOGAS issues today, just bare with me;

1. wife is going back to work tomorrow.  it's been a looooong time since she last worked (excluding weekends and odd hours.)  we can use the financial security but the day to day kid stuff is going to be hard without her.

2. went to change the mid muffler on one of the cars and found out that the muffler they gave me is 6" longer than the original.  it won't fit!   [bang] 

3. I can't repack the cans on the ST (not an options with these DP cans.) so i went to put them back together.  pulled out my rivet gun and the rivets won't fit.  the gun is too small. 

4. the black flies are back in town. 

I'm done.

i agree with you, except where young children are concerned.
every time i see a car driving down the road with small children standing on the front seat, i get a little homicidal..

as an EMT/Firefighter, calls involving a school bus always freaked me out.
