OK, nice sunny day & the bike needs a wash.....half way through I noticed it move forward & over she went!  Bloody side stands!  >:(

Anyway, I desperately tried to grab the bars but I was on the wrong side so I decided to let it go & hope for the best.

The frame slider took it all & the bar end mirror was knocked & had to be re aligned. ;D

Hopefully this will be the only time its on its side as I don't want to test the sliders out on the road! [moto]

sounds like you need to invest in a paddock/race stand.

First problem was that you decided to clean your bike!  ;)

'when in doubt apply throttle' - it may not save you, but it will end the suspense

Hey, I have a stand but generally dont use it when I wash the bike (maybe I should from now one) 8)

Still I think these side stands are not the greatest.  On some of the other bikes I've owned, the stand is locked into position once the weight of the bike is on it so it cant move forward & roll off the stand.

....just easier to leave it dirty! ;D

ah but tony you will be forever cleaning road bikes considering where you live - a hyper or a multi maybe more what you need!  ;D

That would be a while off..... if ever!  Will just stick with the 695 for now.  Just have to get out & ride it some more!
Must make & effort & catch up for a ride in the next few weeks before it gets cold & wet.
