i tried out the 750 without the mufflers on it, straight out of the headers after it merges and splits. the missus was not impressed either. all the boys at work were though

pardon me if I'm wrong, but Doesn't the speedo read about 70kms/hr or so? or is it just my eyes

If 70kms/hr is warp speed i'd hate think what 170kms/hr is.( hyperdrive maybe?)

Saw something very similar recently, wanted to go out and do it but ya beat me too it.
Do I imagine you were using a cable release?

No cable release, just a 20 second timer and plenty of stops on side roads.  Press button, vroom, SNAP, <repeat>.

The camera's self-timer options are, IIRC, 2, 5, 10 and 20 seconds.  I set it to 20 so I'd have time to get up to speed and line it up, but 10s is all I really needed.

i dont think the camera on my Iphone would work very well for this
