SPANKIN’ ASPHALT: TWO MOTORCYCLES ON ONE GEAR TESTING-CHARITY
FUND-RAISING JOURNEY

SPANKIN’ ASPHALT for the National Breast Cancer Foundation
May 6th 2010 from New York City to New Orleans.

In 1987, Helen Marie Johnson was diagnosed with breast cancer. After an intense and dignified fight to battle the disease she passed away on Dec 15th of that year. On May 6th 2010 at 3AM, Charkaras Johnson and Jea Edman, with a common love for riding and a personal commitment to generating awareness about breast cancer will journey from Brooklyn, New York to New Orleans, Louisiana on their Ducati 9-9-9 and Ducati 1098 motorcycles. This unique journey will have three goals:

1. Real world testing and review of motorcycle equipment such as Dainese tracksuits, Pirelli
tires, and GPS equipment.
2. Raising as much money as possible for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
3. Documenting a personal and cultural discovery. This 2,700 mile ride and interactions with people and cancer survivors at every state and stop along the way will be recorded through writing, photography and video-blog posts. The riders will inform and educate not only motorcycle enthusiasts about the vast world of super bikes and promote breast cancer awareness but also explore other pressing social issues where we can make an impact.
Bringing together hardcore Ducati enthusiasts and the National Breast cancer Foundation on a 2,700 miles ride emerged from the riders’ personal experience with cancer.

Welcome, sounds like a good cause.

May I suggest posting a regular introduction here so we know a little bit more about who you are, and then posting up your event in the General forum? :)

Agreed...

because since we don't know you your post is no more than spam.
