to pick up another bike  [evil]

I hear there is this BBQ thing there.....anyone wanna meet up and get some food?  I'll have the bike loaded up/ready to drive back to ATL around 12noon.   [drink]

I'm a little too far north for lunch, but what kind of bike are you picking up now?
Every bike I've ever owned.

it's a 999s with a few goodies.

Will make for some nice parts on the 2v sbk, and will sell the rest.

I'll have pics when I get back....I plan to ride this one for a bit before breaking it down.

Any idea where you're looking to eat? There's quite an array of tasty smoky-treats in the area.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Gotta go to Arthur Bryants (if it is still there)

Desmosedici - it's the new Paso (except the bodywork doesn't fit as well)

No idea, just looking to meet some people, share some food, etc :) [thumbsup]

I like Jack Stack the best, Zarda's is good. Are you  going to Letko?

It certainly is. I still remember my first time eating at AB's. I was about 6, my brother was 8, and we watched as dad ordered a brisket sammich and 4 extra slices of white bread and 2 extra plates. We watched in awe as the guy behind the counter put a slice of Wonder Bread on a plate, topped it with 4" of sliced brisket, dipped a paintbrush in a metal pan of BBQ sauce, pasted the brisket once forward, once backward, and then slapped another slice of Wonder Bread on top. Voila. Sammich.

The original restaurant has lost a little bit of "character" since Arthur passed away. That is, the family has actually renovated the place. The original tile floor, which was worn away to the concrete sub-floor from the door to the counter, has been replaced. The walls have fresh paint, etc. But the recipes don't seem to have suffered.

My personal preference leans towards Rosedale BBQ. They're both smoked until pink and tender, I just like Rosedale's sauce better.

Growing up in KC we always preferred Snead's in Belton (corner of 171st and Holmes).  I always got a plate of Brownies (burnt ends).  Add some sauce from the rubber banded bottle if you want mild.  Or go for their hot (no rubber band).  Man I miss that place.  We have a place in PHX named "In the Pits Again" that was started by an ex cook from Bryant's... it is about a close as I can find to KC BBQ here.

I'm from PA, but my wife is from there, so my words technically count :)

I'd hit up Zarda's for sure if you're looking for BBQ.  If you want to check out the downtown scene and try some really good cafe food (and coffee) head to the Classic Cup in the Plaza.  That's probably my favorite place to eat in KC.  There are usually a bunch of bikes buzzing through that area when the weather is nice.

Take pics!  Ride safe!

Left the house Wed AM at 6, made the plane by 10 minutes.  Some delays along the way, but it's home and now tucked into the garage.  Rental had to be back by 10am, so after I unloaded I made the trek out to the airport and returned it.  Awful nice of them to give me a brand new van for a one way rental.

Pics when I regain consciousness sometime tomorrow.  Think billet lowers on the ohlins, HP calipers/rotors, and Ti.  Man this thing is yum-yum.
