May 8th and 9th, the Ducati and Triumph Demo trucks will be there.  I believe only the new Multistradas and Hypermotards for Ducati, but ALL models for  Triumph.

Reminder.... Sunday is Mother's Day, so I'm heading up Saturday.  Anyone else going?

Everybody stay away - at least Saturday morning.  I'm sure they won't have any interesting bikes to ride.  [roll]

I'm really hoping to get on a Multistrada 1200S Sport Touring version for the first test ride of the day.  I gotta ride one of those.  Then it's off to Livermore for the Livermore PD motorcycle safety day.

It might have changed, but this is what Brian at Ace said before at BARF, and he confirmed it a couple of weeks ago when I talked to him on the phone:

Don't want to be a downer, but consider the following:

The US "unveiling" is on May 8. http://www.autoevolution.com/news/ducati-multistrada-and-falcon-kestrel-to-debut-at-quail-lodge-19432.html

I doubt DNA is going to allow demos before the unveiling.. Maybe it will be there Sunday, but I dunno.. I kinda doubt it.. I HOPE it's there.

Well, my information was the source (Brian, the sales guy at Ace), but even the source can be wrong....

I just talked to Brian, and he said Ducati is evidently a couple of months behind schedule on the production of the Multistrada.  All the bikes being seen now are like pre-production mock-ups, not the real deal off the assembly line.

As a result, Brian just confirmed that there will be one Multistrada there  this weekend for sure, that you can see and touch, BUT NOT RIDE.

He said the factory "Demo" truck will be there with bikes to ride, but he does not know which models, other than to presume they still will be providing some Hypermotards.

Sorry for the misinformation.

No need to be sorry! You were just relaying information from Ace..

I am currently obsessed with MTS delivery and demo dates because I am trying to get mine ASAP..

I don't want to hate on Ace, but why haven't they updated their post on BARF to tell everyone there will be no MTS's for the demo ride? There are going to be some pissed off people at their doorstep this weekend.

In case you are curious, my best info is from DNA on 4/19. They said that each dealer will get one bike in the "second week of May". That will be a demo bike only. After that there will be "steady deliveries". The word from Europe is that they are making good on deliveries and many people in the UK and other places have their MTS1200s already. Some of the new owners have posted on multistrada.net already. I have not heard of any recent production problems that are delaying things, but I am not an insider either.

I just called Ace Motorsports to find out what they'll have on Saturday.

They'll have a Multistrada 1200 "that you can sit on" and somebody from Ducati North America to answer questions about it, but nobody will be test riding one.  That's too bad, because I've already taken test rides on all Ducati and Triumph models that I'm even remotely interested in.  I don't consider it worth the trip to Concord for me, when I have other things going on.  If they had a set of KTM demo mikes, maybe.

I guess that gives me more time to hang out in Livermore at the motorcycle safety event.
