Black Monster got pulled over just before the Bay Bridge toll plaza this morning

I gave a nod for a hello but really wanted to put a screen name to the face/bike and also ask what he got ya for. I was the guy on the red 696.

I've had the worst stretch of my life over the last 6 months. The cops are really making money these days. No wonder after learning that it cost $660,000/mo for the additional Bay Bridge enforcement alone. Supposedly they're backing off the extra enforcement but I suspect the cops you do see will have much itchier trigger fingers when it comes to writing tickets for the foreseeable future.

Evan?

No, fortunately.  It's unusual for them to pull anyone over in the morning heading westbound for anything other than HOV lane violations.  It's even more unusual for them to pull anyone over *before* the toll plaza, especially motos.  The guy must have run over a baby with a beer in his hand and been tossing molotov cocktails at the cop to get lit up.  Or maybe he was having a mechanical, but the CHP rarely stops to help out stranded vehicles as far as I can tell.  Maybe they just call it in instead?

The Eastbound trip in the evenings is a different story.  Every day they've had multiple cars and bikes pulled over nearly every time I've crossed.  I heartily suggest sticking very closely to the 50 mph limit and the 40 through the curve for a while.  The 40 isn't a recommended speed as it is on most corners--it's the limit--and apparently doing 30 over that is troublesome to the boys in beige.

I don't run from the cops......but how in the world are they pulling you over? Crossing that bridge is like navigating a parking lot.

It doesn't really seem that busy most of the time to me.  I probably do over 2,000 miles a year just on that bridge and I've been crossing it for 6 years now.  I might be getting too used to riding it.

Ask her how she knows. ;D

Oh, and getting a knee down in that corner is definitely a red flag!  [clap]

It was me.    [roll]

Traffic was backed up and I went around a semi on the shoulder to get into the carpool lane.  I didn't see the cop who was sitting right in front of the semi.  Pretty embarrassing.

Luckily no ticket.

Sweet!   [thumbsup]  You shouldn't give a shit about being embarassed if you didn't get a ticket.

OMG. I do that all the time. I always wondered if I'd get pulled over for it. I started to do it right in front of him and decided I've got too many points to risk it. Since he was right there and I was stopped, I considered just asking him if I could go around but decided yelling over my uncapped Termis might cause other problems.

Glad you didn't get a ticket.

Remember, it's okay to pretend to be embarrassed / sorry when you get pulled over  [evil]

Still, good on ya for not getting a ticket.
